While NieR:Automata was released half a decennium ago, the game has become a staple of the hack-and-slash action-roleplay genre. NieR:Automata features a captivating narrative, diverse gameplay, a lonesome yet mesmerizing open world, melancholic music, and unforgettable characters.
In NieR:Automata, human-crafted androids set out to rescue a deserted Earth from an alien-robot army fueled by their desire to eradicate all humans and establish total control of the forsaken world. The game explores the chronicles of a combat android, 2B, scanner android, 9S, and rogue prototype, A2, and their struggle to reclaim the machine-driven dystopia plagued by powerful machines.
The game incorporates a plethora of endings, with the most significant conclusions concentrating on character motivations and even player choice. NieR:Automata is the perfect amalgamation of action-roleplaying and text-adventure brewed together to the finest consistency.
The memorable experiences birthed out of the game satiate the quench for fantasy and story-telling. NieR:Automata can be enjoyed in multiple different playthroughs, each unlocking more content for you to explore. The game was almost overshadowed by some titles that were released during the same period. However, today, the game is widely recognized as one of SQUARE ENIX’s best works.
NieR:Automata received a positive reception despite some bugs after immediate release, becoming a global success. The nostalgic title is still making rounds with copies of the game still being sold after half a decade. NieR:Automata has officially sold over 6.5 million copies worldwide, according to the game’s official website.
The statement on the website roughly translates to, “22.06.28 Cumulative worldwide shipments and downloads exceeded 6.5 million units.” The monumental triumph was achieved almost a week ago, on 22 June 2022, and the game is expected to rise even further.
Moreover, NieR:Automata is still making its way to prominent devices, so the lifetime of the title only appears to expand for years to come. NieR:Automata The End of YoRHa Edition is slated for a Nintendo Switch release, as announced by SQUARE ENIX in the recent Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase.
The Nintendo Switch version of the game features “the award-winning original game, with all its twists and turns, different endings, exciting battles and sense of nihilistic wonder.” Moreover, the content also includes “content of the 3C3C1D119440927 DLC, which includes three challenging colosseums, with some amazing bosses to battle, and additional costumes that are inspired by NieR Replicant.”
