The release of Final Fantasy 16 is around the corner and more details about the game are gradually showing up. Recently, the file size of the title was revealed and it’s confirmed to be 90.18 GB. The size is definitely massive and it makes the entry one of the largest games for PlayStation 5 this year. The leak comes from a reputable source on Twitter, which has got many findings correct in the past.

The game can be preloaded on June 20 and will be officially launched on June 22, 2023. While this is the base file size of the game, it is expected to increase with more patches along the way. Furthermore, the developers confirmed that the title would get a 300 MB update on the launch date to fix performance issues and a few bugs plaguing the title.

A large file size for a game of such caliber as Final Fantasy 16 was expected. Many AAA titles tend to get large during the development process. During the entry’s exclusive broadcast, the producer claimed that the initial plan for the title’s release was supposed to utilize two discs, However, six months before the launch date, the team managed to fit the game into just one disc by a hair’s breadth.

Recently, a demo was released for Final Fantasy 16 which lets players complete the opening chapter. The demo features a few combat mechanics and allows players to have a taste of the entry’s amazing visuals. Since the title is a timed PlayStation 5 exclusive, the demo is currently only available to download at the PlayStation Store, players can keep their save file from the demo if they purchase the complete game.

Final Fantasy 16 will release for the PlayStation 5 as a timed exclusive on June 22.
