Phobos Vector Prime: The First Ring new UPDATE

Coming out back in April of this year, Phobos Vector Prime: The First Ring, the nostalgic video game that combines the classic mechanics of the great arcade titles of the 80s with the current technology, game feel and narrative, has received a new free content on PlayStation®4 (PS4™). This patch, called Retro Waves Update, includes improvements on UI and sound design, besides an endless new Survival Mode.

It was quoted, “At Gunstar Studio we want players to enjoy our game for a long more time. We have heard the audience’s feedback and we want to give them an infinite horde mode remembering the classic gamefeel of arcade 80s titles. It’s all about fun, challenge and skill.”

Retro Waves Update

Retro Waves Update adds a new Survival Mode to the main game. In this new mode you will have to defend three differents areas from the endless attack of the waves of enemies. Each wave will be random, including every type of enemy of Phobos Vector Prime: The First Ring, besides the ones that we’ve developed exclusively for this patch.

If they destroy the three generators, game over. If they destroy you, game over. At the end of every run you can see your score, your time and your rank, share it through your social networks and prove your skill as space pilot!

During the game, players will be able to take advantage of the power-ups that will be deployed along the new map. They will also be able to use the Integrated Systems of J.L. Brown’s spaceship (War Breath, Embrace of Death and Shockwave) and the help of allied turrets and drones.

In addition to this new mode, Retro Waves Update includes improvements in the interface and sound design; details that we wanted to solve after the feedback we received from those players who have tried the game since its european launch in April.

The update can be experienced today as it is available as a patch for Phobos Vector Prime: The first Ring.
