New NieR Collaboration Brings Two Exclusive Skin Sets To Rainbow Six Siege

Both the Elite Iana YoRHa and Maverick Replicant bundles are available for purchase in Rainbow Six Siege.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege has had collaborations with several game franchises over the years, but this latest crossover is certainly a cut above the rest in various ways. Due to the courtesy of the official PlayStation channel uploading to YouTube, the Elite Iana YoRHa bundle for Iana has been made available in Rainbow Six Siege to purchase.

The arrival of Elite Iana YoRHA in Rainbow Six Siege isn’t the first bundle coming to the tactical first-person shooter. A collaboration between the two vastly dissimilar IPs was initially announced almost a week ago and that too on YouTube in a surprising turn of events.

It showcased the Maverick NieR Replicant Bundle for a certain operator making its way to Rainbow Six Siege for NieR fans to enjoy. This purchasable package includes an exclusive NieR skin from the game NieR Replicant right alongside Grimoire Weiss—the trusty enchanted tome that follows the protagonist around in the title

The Rundown:

  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is a high-rated tactical first-person shooter that was initially launched in 2015. It’s an online-only game that features enticing PvP (Player vs Player) team battles and a rich competitive gameplay experience. It’s available to play on all major platforms except for Nintendo Switch.
  • Being a live-service title, Rainbow Six Siege has had multiple collaborations in its lifetime with other video game franchises like Resident Evil and even television series, such as Rick and Morty
  • The latest crossover introduced by the developers of the game happens to pertain to NieR Replicant and NieR:Automata, featuring the Maverick Replicant and the Elite Iana YoRHa bundles respectively.
  • The skin sets have been made available to purchase in the Rainbow Six Siege in-game store at the present.

It’s pretty obvious that the Elite Iana YoRHA bundle for Rainbow Six Siege will paint the operator in question in typical 2B fashion—one of the main protagonists from NieR:Automata. However, what surprises us in the reveal trailer of the collaboration is the apparent show of fireworks from the relentless Android warrior.

She’s seemingly equipped herself with firearms to kill off her foes which is quite contrary to 2B’s style. She usually arms herself with melee weapons to cut down incoming enemies, so it does feel a little off when she dons an assault rifle and shoots at enemy players.

This is cursed,” says a commentator on the official reveal trailer of the Elite Iana YORHa Nier:Automata trailer. Another one of the top comments expresses, “I never thought I’d see 2B with a gun, but here we are.” One fan, in particular, makes an interesting critique of the 2B-inspired skin bundle.

They say, “Yoko Taro wasn’t lying, Nier would collab to everything for money.Speaking to Game Reactor at PAX East in 2017, Toro — Nier:Automata’s game director — did answer with the following when asked about a potential sequel to the title,

If Square-Enix gives me money I will create anything. So I think let Square-Enix know and I think if Square-Enix wants it I’ll do it.”

Of course, this far-flung criticism is just to take a dig at the publisher of the game, but it does raise a few eyebrows as to the authenticity of the NieR franchise, similar to how you can find Kratos — the legendary Ghost of Sparta from God of War — doing puerile dances in Fortnite

Despite the trash talk though, Rainbow Six Siege players certainly ought to don new skins for operators Iana and Maverick, given how these recently announced add-ons are already available to purchase. Log into the game on your respective console and grab the opportunity to buy these bundles from the in-game store.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is available on a wide array of consoles, including Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. It came out in 2015 and has been kept consistently updated with new game mechanics, feature additions, and, of course, in-game content.
