Age Of Empires IV Seemingly Releasing On Xbox Consoles
Relic Entertainment's real-time strategy video game, Age of Empire IV, may be coming to Xbox consoles soon, as suggested by the Xbox Games Store.
The real-time strategy game, Age of Empire IV, has long been popular and the successor to its predecessors. The game was published back in October 2021 by Xbox Game Studios and it was very well-received by players. Not only that but the game has been reviewed positively by almost every major critic out there, having a Metascore of 81. However, the game came out as a PC exclusive and it has stayed that way, or at least until now. Recently, as per the description of the game on the Xbox Games Store, Age of Empire IV could be coming out for Xbox consoles soon.
On the official product page for the game on the Xbox Games Store, the description for Age of Empires IV + 4K HDR Video Pack mentions, “Online multiplayer on console requires Xbox subscription (sold separately),” in the bottom right corner, suggesting that the game could be released on Xbox consoles soon. This might not come as a surprise to many readers, as some sort of testing for Age of Empire IV was recently discovered by Aggiornamenti Lumia on Twitter in January.
In their tweet, Aggiornamenti Lumia says that Age of Empires IV, codenamed “Cardinal,” was getting tested in Xbox Insider Preview, codenamed “XIP.” So, it’s safe to assume that the developers have been putting their best foot forward about bringing Age of Empire IV to Xbox consoles. The only reason that stopped Relic Entertainment from doing so earlier was that its main focus for the game was on PC and fixing the bugs, glitches, and such.
However, things have started to change following the announcement of the major Age of Empire update, Age of Empires IV Season One: Festival of Ages. The information on the Xbox Games Store website has been a good source of leaks in the past, having multiple accidentally accurate leaks. With that being said, the information about Age of Empire IV coming to Xbox consoles is still a double-edged sword and should be taken with a grain of salt.
