The recent harassment lawsuit has reached yet another development which Activision listing measures that they are taking in order to secure a safer work environment. For the uninitiated, earlier this year, the state of California filed a lawsuit against Activision Blizzard after a 2-year long investigation citing high rates of sexual harassment within the company. One of these included the infamous “cube crawls” where male employees would crawl around the female employee’s cubicles. The most damming revelation in the lawsuit however, was the mention of a female employee who was driven to suicide because of the harassment.

Since then, there has been a huge amount of people who have come out and spoken about their experiences working within the company and describing the toxicity within the workplace, from an unhelpful HR department to key figures in the company being the prime instigators of this behavior.

Since these details have been brought to light, Activision Blizzard has been in the process of undergoing major changes. Key figures that were involved in these cases have been fired and numerous Blizzard-related projected have been delayed or put on hold. Just recently, Blizzard have confirmed that both the upcoming Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 have been delayed indefinitely. It is also good to know that the company hasn’t stopped taking measures to prevent something like this from happening again.

The Activision Blizzard lawsuit has been possibly the biggest case of toxic workplace issues that has come to light within the industry, and it begs an even more worrying question: How many more companies there might be that have cases as bad or worse happening within them that haven’t been uncovered yet?
