Earlier this year, in order to play heavier titles which may overwhelm the Nintendo Switch hardware, developers allowed for streaming services to allow gameplay on the device. First, it was done by the developers at Resident Evil who managed to stream Resident Evil 7 on the device. This time around its the Assasin’s Creed: Odyssey which would be available for streaming. (there is a catch though)
Sadly though, like the Resident Evil 7, Assasin’s Creed: Odyssey too would only be available for the Japanese market. Not that only this game has been ignored, Western countries such as those in Europe or the American soil are yet to meet with the streaming services on the Switch. This happens to work more with the Japanese market as these games are available for rent, as compared to a subscription system in the US with services such as PS Plus and Xbox Live memberships. In Japan, the rental service works in such a way that players have the option to rent the game (in this case, Resident Evil 7) for a couple of months or even an entire year.
The game based on the cloud system is set to come out along with its real-world release on October 5th. Since the game would be in Japanese only, people outside Japan who would understand the language can also experience it on their devices, given that they have stable internet connections.
