Like any mainline currency in a game, gold is the lifeblood of WoW, and everything (or most of it, at least) is done primarily to accumulate this resource. It’s used for purchasing gear, consumables, mounts, repairs, crafting materials, and services like transmogrification or training. It also supports trading, auction house transactions, and social features like gifting.

However, with the sheer amount of activities it enables, it’s a tedious thing to acquire, which is why the community leans on using alts. In this guide, we’ll show you how to level your alts fast and use them to multiply your gold income several times over. Both dungeon runs and Chromie questing unlock at level 10, but getting from level 1 to 10 won’t be a problem if you just do your starting zone quests. And if you play an Allied Race or a non-Evoker Dracthyr, you’ll skip that initial push entirely and start at level 10 right away.

With the methods we talked about above, leveling won’t be much of a grind anyway, but there are a few tricks that can make you hit the level cap even faster.

Two or three extra characters will already be enough to increase your gold gains without turning the game into a second job.

So, with that in mind, let’s finally take a look at some of the most profitable alt-based activities.

Instances

As you know, WoW raids have a weekly lockout per character on each difficulty. If you clear a raid on your main and loot all the bosses, you can’t get the rewards again that week on that same character. But with multiple alts, you can run the raid on each character and get more rewards. This is especially useful when you’re after rare items, because doing more runs increases your chances of getting that coveted drop.

The same idea works for Mythic dungeons, except their loot lockout is daily instead of weekly. You can farm them multiple times per day across all your alts, which will massively boost your gold gains and chances at valuable drops.

Spawn Camping

Then you head over to Brann Bronzebeard and pick up his quest to complete three Delves.
