Rumor: Bloober Is Already Working On Another Silent Hill Remake

It seems possible as well.

Story Highlights

  • Bloober Team is the proud creator of the Silent Hill 2 remake, an excellent game that rekindles old spirits.
  • The developer could be working on another Silent Hill remake, particularly Silent Hill 3.
  • Take this with a pinch of salt, because there have been no official corroboration on the matter so far.

Taking to X to make the claim, insider Planeta_PlayStation has reason to believe that Bloober Team is remaking Silent Hill 3 next after an excellent venture with Silent Hill 2. As per the post, the alleged details that have come out into the open say that the game is codenamed “Project H” and possesses a stronger narrative than the previous remake.

This could hint at certain modifications to the game’s original plot, and since these are remakes we’re talking about, it’ll be fairly interesting to note how this prospect could play out. Additionally, a “greater focus on survival horror” has been pitched, along with a claim that revolves around Konami wanting to make it big with the Silent Hill IP from here on out.

It’s worth noting, however, that Bloober confirmed 7 games under development earlier this year, including Silent Hill 2 which is now out. The rest of the projects are:

  • Project C
  • Project G
  • Project H
  • Layers of Fears
  • Project F
  • Project M

If said rumor is anything to go by, Project H is the remake of Silent Hill 3. And in case you missed it, Bloober already revealed Project C—it’s a third-person survival horror game called Cronos: The New Dawn that looks seriously creepy.

The general consensus in the Silent Hill community is that if there’s any title that should be remade next, it’s the first Silent Hill. Not only does it make the most sense, but giving that game better controls and reshaping it with modern tech is going to bring forth the survival horror experience of a lifetime—that’s for sure.

The Silent Hill 2 remake came out on October 8, 2024, for the PlayStation 5 and PC. It was supposed to be a GOTY contender but ended up getting nominated for other categories instead. Despite failing to secure a win in any of the 5 sections it was a nominee in, the game won Game of the Year at The Horror Game Awards this year.
