Halo Infinite’s First Multiplayer Preview Confirmed

A select number of players have been contacted via email

Halo Infinite is the next, and quite possibly, the final iteration in a long time of Xbox’s greatest exclusive franchise. The campaign is set to feature the Master Chief in all his Spartan glory yet again, as the fictional celebrity takes on his most vicious foe to date. Microsoft announced the highly anticipated title a little over 3 years ago at E3 2018 and has now given out a release window of Holiday 2021.

The title saw a delay in August 2020 when the studio head of 343 Industries said, “We have made the difficult decision to shift our release to 2021 to ensure the team has adequate time to deliver a Halo game experience that meets our vision.” It appears that multiple factors had contributed to that, including the novel Coronavirus, and other development challenges.

Fans, however, took the news like a champ, respecting the developer’s decision, and patiently waiting so the Microsoft frontrunner could meet everyone’s expectations. After all, we don’t want another Cyberpunk disaster on our hands, do we?

While there’s no solid launch day stated as of right now for Halo Infinite, it seems that the game is going to have its first multiplayer preview shortly. Many people all across the internet, including a Redditor, named ImBuGs, and Tom’s Guide writer Jordan Palmer have received a dedicated email from the developer team, inviting them to try out the multiplayer beta experience firsthand from 29 July to 1 August – days that mark the weekend.

That said, not all of the Master Chief’s fans have been chosen, and only an anointed few who signed up to become a Halo insider have appeared to receive the email. In addition, even out of the Halo insider program, some people have been chosen as the criteria massively depend on the scope and scale of the technical preview.

The major aim of the technical preview is to assess how the multiplayer plays out, and what areas of it can be improved upon. The developers have a specialized blog that discusses everything regarding the development of Halo Infinite. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for more information.
