Resident Evil 3 Remake Has Been Demade

A 3D animator by the name of Rustic Games has recreated the opening sequence of the 2020’s Resident Evil 3 Remake in the style of the original games. 

Rustic Games BR is a relatively popular channel that recreates scenes from modern games in the style of PS1 games, some of these games include Resident Evil 6, Dead Space, and last year’s mega-hit Elden Ring. 

Their recent recreation of Resident Evil 3 Remake’s intro also features some clever nods and a neat twist over the actual game’s opening sequence.

Jill’s nightmare sequence now references one of her early encounters with a zombie in the original Resident Evil, this time causing a zombified version of herself in her RPD uniform to pop out once you drain the bathtub. 

You can choose to fight this zombified Jill, but she’ll kill you in a single bite leading to the game’s classic “You Died” screen, after which Jill finally wakes up for good. 

The video ends with a familiar phone call and the looming footsteps of Nemesis coming from outside. 

It’s a wonderfully crafted sequence with a ton of hidden details and references, one of the posters on Jill’s wall is the DS port of the very first Resident Evil i.e., “Resident Evil: Deadly Silence”, also known as the best way to play the original Resident Evil. 

On Jill’s investigation board there are images of Chris in his Mad Max post-apocalypse outfit from Resident Evil 5, the apartment itself is painstakingly recreated in the same pre-rendered style of backgrounds we know and love. Jill’s movements are noticeably clunky in order to recreate the movement of the original games’ tank controls. 

It’s an all-around wonderful recreation that is sure to please any old-school Resident Evil fan including myself, and especially those players who adamantly dislike or hate the new Remake for its many liberties over the original game. 

The Resident Evil series is due a release of yet another remake with the now upcoming Resident Evil 4 Remake.

While there have been certain missteps along the way, particularly with the remake of Resident Evil 3, the remake of Resident Evil 4 has garnered massive respect from newcomers and hardcore fans alike for its dedication to redefining a beloved gaming classic.
