Resident Evil 4’s Chainsaw Man Can Be Survived Without Mods

The original game has an animation where Leon shrugs off Dr. Salvador without being killed.

Story Highlights

  • You can actually survive an attack from Dr. Salvador’s chainsaw in Resident Evil 4.
  • The event is very rare and leaves you with 1 HP, but the animation is a part of the game.
  • Mods also prove that surviving Dr. Salvador’s chainsaw and pushing him away is coded in the horror title.

As it turns out, you can survive attacks from the infamous chainsaw-carrying Dr. Salvador in Resident Evil 4 and this has never been seen before.

Leon is left with 1 HP but he shakes off the attacker. It is rare but certainly is part of the popular survival horror. User Linkthehylian on Twitter found this rare occurrence and posted a video accordingly.

Before you go and load up the classic horror game, do keep in mind this happening is very rare. The original poster was unable to recreate this scenario without the help of mods. He used the Invincibility Tweak mod on PC and was able to reproduce the animation we saw in the original video.

So, even though Resident Evil 4 doesn’t always allow you to survive a chainsaw attack, it does have an in-game animation for it. Therefore, it can happen in rare circumstances, it just depends on your luck. Finding such easter eggs is always fun, especially in classic games like this that keep on giving.

As seen in gameplay footage, Dr. Salvador is also going to be in the Resident Evil 4 remake. So, it will be interesting to see if players will be able to survive his chainsaw onslaught in the remake. We won’t have to wait a long time to find out as the game launches on March 24, 2023.

It will come out on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. Let’s hope e can fight out the chainsaw-wielding doctor in this remake.
