Resident Evil 4 Remake Gets Permanent Price Cut After Gold Edition’s Release

The new $39.99 pricing is now effective across all platforms.

Story Highlights

  • The Resident Evil 4 remake is Capcom’s latest installment in the long-running Resident Evil franchise.
  • The game, following the release of its Gold Edition, has been discounted to $39.99 permanently.
  • This pricing is now effective across all the platforms the remake is available on, including Steam, Xbox, and PS.

Capcom has been a real game-changer (no pun intended) in the video game remake space, and a constant barrage of titles such as Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and the relatively recent Resident Evil 4 do nothing but prove just that. However, if you’ve been meaning to grab yourself the latest installment in the franchise that seemingly does the impossible, now might be the best time to act swift.

That’s because the Resident Evil 4 remake has seen a permanent price cut of $20 across all official storefronts that it’s available on, including Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation, which reduces its MSRP to $39.99 going forward. A fantastic deal of a game of this stature. Even though I bought the game on launch at its full price, I have zero regrets. It’s a phenomenal reimagining of the 2005-released classic.

But just so you know, the reduced pricing hasn’t arrived in the wake of nothing. Capcom recently unveiled the game’s Gold Edition, featuring an all-in-one package that encompasses everything from the base game and the Separate Ways expansion, which is nothing short of perfect DLC by the way, and even additional bonuses, such as extra costumes, weapons, and accessories.

On a side note, though, the Resident Evil 4 remake became the fastest-selling game in the franchise earlier, rolling over 26.7 million units and outclassing the likes of Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 7, and others. There’s also a rumor circulating the internet that Capcom is working on at least 5 more Resident Evil titles, though that’s just up in the air only at the moment.
