Story Highlights
- Jin Sakai, the hero of Ghost of Tsushima, is a playable character in Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted, complete with all four of his original stances.
- Most Wanted is a roguelike combat mode with four playable characters, escalating bounties, and perk-based builds.
- Both Most Wanted and the Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion launch October 1 as part of Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition.
Sucker Punch used today’s State of Play to confirm a fan-favorite crossover: Jin Sakai is joining the Ghost of Yōtei cast. Andrew Goldfarb, senior communications manager at the studio, put it simply: “We are so excited to have the hero of Ghost of Tsushima back for this new mode, complete with all four of his signature stances.”
What Most Wanted Actually Is

Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted is a single-player combat survival mode built as Sucker Punch’s take on a roguelike.
Players pick from four characters and take on bounties from a bounty board, each tied to a different member of the Yōtei Six, fighting through waves of enemies and minibosses along the way. Finishing a wave unlocks perks that build toward taking down the bounty’s final boss, and bounties can be replayed at increasing difficulty, all the way up to a final showdown against Lord Saito.
Runs also earn Mon, a currency spent outside of runs on new techniques, weapon upgrades, charms, and character unlocks. Cosmetics earned in Most Wanted carry over into the main game too, usable during Atsu’s story or the new Echoes of Sekigahara expansion.
Jin Sakai And The Other Playable Characters

Four characters are playable once fully unlocked, each with their own weapons, Ultimate, and Kill Streak:
- Atsu is the default character, fighting with dual katana and two Ghost Tools, Metsubushi and a Blind Bomb. Her Ultimate summons two wolves to attack nearby enemies, and her Kill Streak terrifies enemies and forces one to flee.
- Oyuki fights with the kusarigama, kunai, and tanegashima rifle. Her Ultimate lets her quickly assassinate two nearby enemies, and her Kill Streak summons a Nine Tails ally to fight and assassinate alongside her.
- Nagato uses the yari, tanzutsu pistol, yumi, and hankyu. His Ultimate guarantees a headshot on two targeted enemies, and his Kill Streak refills his Concentration and grants an explosive arrow.
- Jin Sakai rounds out the roster, using his katana across all four original Ghost of Tsushima stances alongside a Sticky Bomb and hankyu. His Ultimate is Dance of Wrath, which disarms multiple enemies, and his Kill Streak is Ghost Stance, letting him terrify and instantly kill several enemies at once.
Sucker Punch’s animation and art teams reworked Jin’s Ghost of Tsushima model to stay faithful while fitting Ghost of Yōtei’s upgraded visuals.
Release Date, Pricing, And Echoes Of Sekigahara

Both Most Wanted and the new story expansion, Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara, launch October 1 as part of Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition. Echoes of Sekigahara splits Atsu’s story between the historical Battle of Sekigahara and the present day, where Nagato has arrived in Ezo hunted by the Vipers, a group of poachers who’ve taken over the previously unseen Ashoro Foothills.
Existing Ghost of Yōtei owners can pre-order the Complete Edition Upgrade for $14.99, which unlocks both new modes plus everything previously included in the Digital Deluxe Edition. Anyone new to the game can buy Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition outright for $69.99, covering the base game, the Ghost of Yōtei Legends co-op mode, and both new additions at launch. Pre-ordering or purchasing digitally before September 30 also unlocks the Sakai Armor early on October 1, without needing to earn it through Most Wanted first.
Every Ghost of Yōtei owner, even without the Complete Edition upgrade, gets a free patch on October 1 adding the Beauty of Yōtei photo mode, new Watanabe Mode tracks, an option to mix armor appearance with different stats, and a new high-contrast accessibility setting.
