Story Highlights
- A former WB Games Marketing Manager’s LinkedIn resume lists Hogwarts Legacy as having generated over $2 billion in revenue.
- WB Games has officially confirmed 40 million units sold as of December 2025, but has not confirmed a $2 billion revenue figure.
- The number would put the game among the highest-grossing titles of the past several years.
Hogwarts Legacy’s numbers keep climbing, and the latest one didn’t come from a WB Games press release.
A Resume, Not A Press Release

The $2 billion claim surfaced through the LinkedIn page of a former WB Games and Avalanche Software Marketing Manager, who worked on Hogwarts Legacy’s community and marketing team for roughly four years before leaving the role in November 2025. Their resume summary credits the work to “40+ million units sold and $2+ billion in revenue.”
WB Games has never announced a $2 billion figure for the game directly. What it has confirmed officially is 40 million units sold across all platforms as of December 2025, plus a $1 billion revenue milestone hit within months of the 2023 launch. The jump to $2 billion tracks with continued sales, including a Nintendo Switch 2 release in mid-2025 that pushed unit counts from 34 million to 40 million in under a year, but until WB confirms it directly, it remains sourced from one employee’s own career summary rather than company reporting.
The Marketing Push Behind It

The same listing details pre-launch gameplay showcases built around community creators that combined for over 9 million views across YouTube and Twitch, plus work with the Wizarding World team on launch-week livestreams that helped the Hogwarts Legacy Twitch category hit a reported 1.3 million concurrent viewers at launch, a record at the time. It also credits the role with managing Avalanche Software and Hogwarts Legacy’s social channels, reaching over 1 million followers, and growing the Avalanche Software Twitch channel from zero to 524,000 followers.
If the $2 billion figure holds up, Hogwarts Legacy sits comfortably among the best-selling games of the last several years, having already overtaken franchises like Kingdom Hearts and Horizon in lifetime sales. A sequel is already in development, and reporting so far suggests it won’t follow the live-service direction WB executives had floated for the franchise in the past.
