Story Highlights
- Cyberpunk 2077 has sold over 40 million copies nearly six years after launch.
- The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has sold more than 65 million copies, pushing total sales across the Witcher series past 90 million.
- CD Projekt Red posted 435 million PLN in revenue for the first half of 2026.
CD Projekt Red closed out the first half of 2026 with new lifetime sales figures for both of its major franchises, alongside a release roadmap that stretches out to 2028.
Cyberpunk Is Now Just As Important As The Witcher Franchise

Cyberpunk 2077 has crossed 40 million copies sold since its 2020 launch, according to the studio’s own report. Phantom Liberty, the game’s sole expansion, has sold 15 million copies in less than three years on its own.
Joint CEO Michał Nowakowski credited the game’s continued sales to how the studio has managed it long after release.
These figures reflect deliberate lifecycle management of our releases, which covers expansion to new platforms and continuous support for the game itself,”
He also pointed to Cyberpunk’s reach outside of its own game, noting Night City appeared in Wuthering Waves and Apex Legends this year, and that the Cyberpunk TCG became the most-funded gaming project in Kickstarter’s history.
That same approach extends to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the anime’s second season, co-produced again with Studio TRIGGER. It’s set to launch on Netflix on October 20.
The Witcher Franchise Crosses 90 Million

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has sold more than 65 million copies on its own, and total sales across the entire Witcher series have now passed 90 million. CD Projekt Red is leaning on that install base to justify one of its biggest release plans yet: three Witcher launches across three consecutive years.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered arrives September 29, 2026, for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and, for the first time, natively on Nintendo Switch 2. It’s a free upgrade for anyone who already owns the base game and folds in both existing expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.
Songs of the Past, a new third expansion built with Fool’s Theory, follows in 2027 and puts Geralt back in the lead role one last time before Ciri takes over as The Witcher 4’s protagonist. The Witcher 4 itself is still targeting a 2028 release window.
Nowakowski framed the sales numbers as the reason CD Projekt Red can commit to that kind of multi-year plan.
This foundation enables us to chart the future of the universe over a period of multiple years, instead of focusing on a single release,”
The Financial Picture Behind The Numbers
CD Projekt Red’s H1 2026 revenue reached 435 million PLN, a 23% increase over the same period last year, with consolidated net profit up 37% to 249 million PLN. Net profitability landed at 57%. CFO Piotr Nielubowicz pointed to both continued game sales and IP licensing as drivers behind the jump, calling licensing “an activity which is progressively becoming more important” to the studio going forward.
