Resident Evil 4’s New Gold Edition Is An All-In-One Deal

Expect the base game, Separate Ways DLC, and an extra pack for good measure.

Story Highlights

  • Resident Evil 4 received the remake treatment last year following years of rumors and speculation.
  • Capcom just unveiled a specialized Gold Edition for the game, pumping it full of added DLC.

The Resident Evil 4 remake is a top-notch third-person shooter and a faithful reimagining of one of the greatest games ever made to boot. Now that we’re one month shy of a year into the game’s initial release, Capcom has announced a dedicated Gold Edition for the game that will comprise all additional content pertaining to the remake. However, its pre-orders are not yet live—you’ll have to wait until February 9.

From what I can tell so far after taking a look at the Gold Edition of the remake via Capcom’s official website, this particular variant is set to feature a distinctive box art if you happen to order the physical edition. For those sticking to the digital space only, here’s what you’ll be getting with your copy of the purchase:

  • Resident Evil 4 (Base Game)
  • Separate Ways (DLC Expansion)
  • Extra DLC Pack (Includes Costumes, Weapons, Accessories)

The Separate Ways DLC expansion is easily one of the most worthwhile investments you can make if you’re a major Resident Evil enthusiast. Getting to relive the superspy’s side of the story as Ada goes through similar situations as Leon and often ends up helping him adds more depth to the overall gameplay experience that the Resident Evil 4 remake has to offer to players.

Although we do have the release date of the Gold Edition, the pricing of the bundle hasn’t been confirmed yet, but we expect that to land somewhere in the $69.99 mark, considering that is the price of the remake’s Deluxe Edition at the moment, and the Gold Edition will be replacing it, as per Capcom. “Resident Evil 4 Deluxe Edition will no longer be available for purchase starting February 9, 2024.”

On a side note, though, Resident Evil 4 has sold more than 6 million copies over the course of its release, effectively becoming the fastest-selling game in the entire Resident Evil franchise by outclassing its Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 7, and Resident Evil 2 & 3 remakes counterparts. Well-deserved, I’d say, considering the quality put on display by Capcom this time around.
