Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the Resident Evil 2 remake, and more made the cut this time around.

So, as usual, a total of eight titles have been added to Game Pass this month, and collectively on the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles, Xcloud — the company’s cloud gaming venture that’s currently still in beta — and PC Game Pass as well. If you’re on any of these platforms and are actively subscribed to Game Pass, feel free to access the aforementioned games as soon as they’ve been added to the catalog.

To talk about a few of them, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla came out in 2020 and launched to great reviews across the board, with Ubisoft blending the spirit of its long-running Assassin’s Creed series with RPG elements borrowed from other franchises. The result was somewhat of an authentic Viking portrayal, earning 4.5/5 in eXputer’s review for its fresh gameplay and breathtaking visuals.

Oh, and expect Valhalla to chime in on January 9, so don’t go trying to launch the game as part of your Game Pass membership right now. The same goes for Resident Evil 2, which is expected to arrive mid-January on the 16th. For those not in the know, we’re talking about the best-selling game in the entire Resident Evil franchise here, so if you haven’t played it before, you’d be right to get excited.

As for what’s leaving Game Pass — because for all games entering the subscription every month, some must exit as well — Grand Theft Auto V is on its way out, the 2013-released global phenomenon by Rockstar Games. You’ve got until January 5 to make the most of the open-world action adventure; it’s goodbye afterward. Also, the following titles are subject to depart the service on January 15:

  • Garden Story (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • MotoGP 22 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Persona 4 Golden (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Persona 3 Portable (Cloud, Console, and PC)

Game Pass costs have increased in recent times, leaving fans wondering if the subscription is still worth it anymore. If you’d like our take on the matter, here’s an in-depth explanation of whether the service deserves your participation or not in 2024.
