- The World Tour mode will feature the open-world single-player mode.
Capcom‘s Street Fighter 6 will be featuring their World Tour and Fighting Ground modes separately from the main game. The updated Xbox Store page of the fighting game has listed different game modes as optional add-ons. Likely, the main game would only include the Battle Hub mode, where players can gather and compete with each other.
The Fighting Ground add-on for Street Fighter 6 will feature each and every mode found in Street Fighter 5. However, the details are not clear as of yet; the Fighting Ground add-on will likely be bringing Training, Online, Versus, and even Survival modes to the game. The Fighting Ground add-on primarily focuses on players who want to play the game online.
Conversely, we have the World Tour add-on featuring the fighting game’s ambitious open-world game mode. From what we’ve seen of the World Tour mode, it is safe to assume that it will feature lots of single-player content. Additionally, when new characters are added to the game’s roster, they will also get their character episodes released for the World Tour mode simultaneously.
Modern games are massive in size. It can get tough to manage all the storage space when you love all your games equally. However, Capcom aims to change that by introducing the game modes as optional add-ons. That way, the players will be able to decide which mode they want to keep depending on their own preferences in case they want to minimize storage space usage.
The main game will likely only contain the Battle Hub mode, as we’ve seen in the multiple Street Fighter 6 Closed Beta Tests so far. The Battle Hub can be described as a place for multiple players to join in and play with each other. The players will also be able to take part in tournaments inside the Battle Hub periodically.
The add-ons are now listed as optional only on the Xbox Store page. However, other platforms such as Steam and the PlayStation store may follow suit and also list these other game modes separately. Street Fighter 6 is set to release on June 2nd, 2023.
