The Wario Apparition Comes To Life In “The Power Star Archives”

The horror series takes an old myth of the Wario Apparition, and brings it back as a horrifying entity roaming a seemingly innocent game.

Mario as a character has always been stapled as one of the most popular characters in the video game community by his extreme nostalgic value and amazing titles all the way back to Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Odyssey.

But he is not the only popular character in his universe. Luigi and Wario are also very popular spanning multiple titles and some solo games, they also increase the overall value of every game set in their universe. As with a series this big, there tend to be a lot of secrets, and this one is one of the universe’s creepiest.

As stated in Fandom, “The Wario Apparition is an uncommon anomalous entity in Super Mario 64, and perhaps one of the most popular Super Mario 64-related legends. The entity takes its likeness from Wario, another established character from the Mario series who was growing in popularity by Super Mario 64’s release.”

After the Wario Apparition catches sight of the player, the floating head starts chasing the player relentlessly and without a halt. Players will be quick to notice that the hallway is now linear and basically infinite, making this encounter both creepy and mysterious.

This maniacal head will start accelerating towards the player while chomping its teeth and start laughing maniacally whenever he gains more ground. The worst part? the Wario Apparition’s behavior can also vary from player to player, meaning others might face an even more terrifying experience than you did.

Supposedly, the Wario Apparation is known to take extremely striking and terrifying forms, often gruesome. These forms are known to take place as it chases the player down the endless corridor.

It’s claimed that after experiencing the Wario Apparition in all its undying horror, the player will suffer from stroke-like symptoms and in some major occurrences, memory loss. The cause of these symptoms is more or less unknown, but many attribute it to the Wario Apparation’s sudden appearance in a kids’ game.

Intended or not, this concept was banked by a user by the name of Greenlight. After seeing everything this scene had to offer, he made a sort of horror series which targeted this concept amazingly well.

The series has a larger focus, remember that one little Wario chases Mario scene? well, it is a little bump in an otherwise entire universe this person seems to be making. Seeing such an intense amount of focus on a series like this shows how amazing fans of the franchise are.

There are also minor tidbits of lore stuck through comments in the videos or subtle descriptions. One of these pieces of lore dictates,

For starters, the game barely looks anything like the original “creepy” version. In fact, version 208.2X resembles your average Super Mario fangame. It would also appear that the current plot is that Mario gets lost and it’s up to Luigi and Toad to find him.”

The series is going strong and the creator uploaded another segment just a few days ago, so if you want to join in on this increasingly horrifying series, now is the best time to start.
