RUMOUR: New Kirby Collection Won’t Release For At Least A Few Months

HAL Laboratory will give Kirby and the Forgotten Land the spotlight, while delaying a new collection's release, according to accredited industry insider.

Fans of Kirby are obviously looking forward to this week due to the release of Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Being the main entry in the series, the hype for the game is intense. However, everyone’s focus shifted from this upcoming game yesterday. A while back, it was rumoured that a new Kirby collection would be coming from HAL Laboratory very soon. Players, obviously, got very excited but unfortunately, this leak got debunked as soon as it came out. However, another industry insider has come forward with some news about the collection, clarifying the situation.

HAL Laboratory will release a new Kirby collection but this won’t happen for at least a few months, according to a recent tweet from an accredited industry insider and leaker, Samus Hunter, who also previously accurately leaked the existence of Kirby and the Forgotten Land last year. Kirby and the Forgotten land is coming out very soon and HAL laboratory wants to give all the spotlight to it for now, according to the industry insider.

While the tweet shows a meme portraying the tough choice for HAL Laboratory, this choice isn’t going to be very difficult, according to the industry insider. Nintendo and HAL Laboratory don’t have any April release planned for a Kirby collection. Rather, they will release the next Tetris 99 Kirby Board instalment, which is an exciting proposition in itself. We don’t know if the next version of Tetris 99 Kirby Board is there for the sake of laughs but players seem to really want it now.

Samus Hunter gives a very valid reason for this late release. Kirby and the Forgotten Land is the next main game in the franchise. Launching a new collection right after its release will definitely hinder its performance to some extent. HAL Laboratory seemingly wants players to focus on the new game and not the collection. Hence, not releasing it a month after Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s release makes sense.

Another interesting tidbit was present in the tweet was that the franchise’s 30th anniversary is coming up on 27th April. HAL Laboratory released Kirby’s Dream Collection in 2012, on the 20th anniversary of the franchise. The industry insider says that this new collection is the main game for the 30th anniversary. So, we might not see its release this April, but we may hear an announcement regarding it soon. However, all of this is just speculation as of now and nothing is certain, so do take it with a grain of salt.
