Max Hoberman, the Founder and CEO of Certain Affinity, liked a tweet suggesting that Microsoft should acquire Certain Affinity, hinting at a possible acquisition.

Behind many of the games that we cherish today is the effort and determination of video game studios that lend their expertise to publishers to help develop stellar titles. These games would not be the same without the assistance of such studios. One such studio was founded by Max Hoberman and a small number of ex-Bungie employees, Certain Affinity. It is beloved by players for contributing to crafting titles like the Left 4 Dead and Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Certain Affinity is more than just a support studio, however. It has also developed original titles like Crimson Alliance and Age of Booty.

Recently, Certain Affinity announced that it is “deepening” its relationship with the leading developer behind the Halo franchise, 343 Industries, and now additionally working on “evolving” Halo Infinite. The announcement came as a romantic affirmation of the concrete connection between both studios. It served as good news to the community, and the players also replied with good remarks, including inquiring about what both studios are currently brewing behind the scenes. However, one tweet got the attention of the Founder and CEO of Certain Affinity, Max Hoberman.

Earlier today, Max Hoberman liked a tweet suggesting that Microsoft should acquire Certain Affinity following the announcement from the company, hinting toward the acceptance of the company being acquired by Microsoft. Perhaps, an acquisition is already in the works behind the curtains? Maybe, Max Hoberman is interested in the acquisition and will not mind discussing the possibility with Microsoft. Only time will reveal the real reason behind the attention that the tweet received. It’s worth noting that he just liked the idea and nothing is in the works currently, so all of this could be nothing.

Max Hoberman, Founder and CEO of Certain Affinity, recently liked the tweet.

Interestingly, most players are all in for the possibility, though; a hard-working studio like Certain Affinity ought to benefit Microsoft. Furthermore, Microsoft’s extra funding and support will increase the quality and potential quantity of the games that Certain Affinity ships out. Due to the enthusiasm and hard work of the team, players are always eyeing down new titles from Certain Affinity. However, they are seldom revealed, usually shrouded in mystery. The studio first shook hands while creating maps for Halo 2: Vista. Since then, it has worked as co-developers multiple times with 343 Industries.
