Battlefield 2042: Cheaters Can Be Permanently Banned Without Warning

"We are dedicated to ensuring that the Battlefield community remains healthy and inclusive," says DICE.

Battlefield 2042 is one of the most anticipated games of this year. Since its announcement in June 2021, fanatics of the Battlefield franchise have been anxiously waiting for the game’s release. However, as is with any competitive FPS game, players have been concerned about the company’s policy regarding cheaters and hackers. Now, DICE has finally released a statement which states that cheaters will be permanently banned in Battlefield 2042 without any warning or suspension.

Earlier today, DICE posted its Battlefield Community Charter on the EA website, which outlines a few rules that the players need to follow when playing Battlefield 2042. Under the section titled “KEEP THINGS FAIR,” the company mentions its anti-cheating policy, saying, “Don’t cheat — Don’t do it. Don’t even think about doing it. Cheating includes using exploits, undocumented features, design errors, bugs or other problems that unfairly give you the leg up on your opponent. Fair play is an essential part to maintaining the enjoyability of the Battlefield experience – don’t be the person who ruins everyone’s day.”

Of course, this is common for all competitive games. However, DICE confirmed that it has absolutely no tolerance when it comes to the use of unfair means, which means that cheaters will be permanently banned from the game completely without any warning or suspension. Since the game also supports cross-play, being banned on one platform will cause the cheater to be banned on all other platforms, too.

“If you break any of our Community Guidelines or violate our User Agreement, we may place restrictions on your account and revoke your access to certain or all EA Services.” says DICE. “If you have repeat or severe instances, we may permanently terminate your account. This includes all of your EA Accounts if you have more than one account.”

However, if you do get banned, you will be informed through an e-mail about your actions and the reason why you got banned. If your case is a severe one, such as using cheats or hacks, your account can be terminated permanently, which means that not only will you lose the account that you cheated on but you’ll also be banned from any other EA Accounts that you’ve created. Furthermore, you’ll also lose access to your username.

“We are dedicated to ensuring that the Battlefield community remains healthy and inclusive. We will not ban players unless the situation absolutely calls for it. However, we will take action to protect our players against harmful behavior, cheating, and illegal activity,” states DICE.

Recently, Call of Duty: Vanguard has come under fire for its poor anti-cheat system that has allowed hackers to cheat in the game even before its release. DICE, on the other hand, seems to be very serious about the satisfaction of its community. Battlefield 2042 will make use of the well-known Easy-Anti Cheat service, which is also used by Fortnite and many others, to find and ban cheaters in the game. Battlefield 2042 is scheduled to release on 19th November 2021 and this anti-cheat system will be active in the upcoming beta version of the game, too.
