DICE studio is arguably the most outstanding subsidiary that falls under the nexus of EA studio. The company was founded in 1992 and has been a subsidiary of Electronic Arts since 2006. EA Digital Illusions (trade name: DICE) is a Swedish video game developer based in Stockholm. Digital Illusions was founded in May 1992 by Olof “Olle” Gustafsson, Markus Nyström, Fredrik Liljegren, and Andreas Axelsson.

Like most notable game studios, DICE had a humble origin when four friends and former members of The Silents, a demogroup that developed for Amiga systems, shook hands together. DICE studio, however, has achieved more feats than just developing games. Through their Frostbite Labs division, the company also produced the Frostbite game engine.

The Engine is designed to be utilized in cross-platform alongside the next-gen and old-gen consoles. The game engine was initially engaged in the Battlefield video game series, but would later be integrated into other first-person shooter games and a myriad of other genres. Thus far, Frostbite has been exclusive to titles published by Electronic Arts. DICE studio has contributed to a few genres.
