Baldur’s Gate 3 Devs Add 60 FPS For Splitscreen Mode Following PS5 Pro’s Release

Its FPS galore in here.

Story Highlights

  • The PlayStation 5 Pro is one beast of a console, with its in-house PSSR being the highlight of the hardware.
  • Upon release, the PS5 Pro received a barrage of titles that were now optimized to run on it perfectly.
  • These include Stellar Blade, Resident Evil 4, Baldur’s Gate 3, and more.

After months of anticipation and hype, the PlayStation 5 Pro is finally here, and with it, a swath of high-flying titles that will perform even better than how they used to before. Thanks to the console’s initial reveal about a month ago, we already knew of a certain number of games about to get tuned and optimized for Sony’s latest hardware, but now, more have seemingly joined in.

Before I get to some of the other announcements, here’s the big highlight. Baldur’s Gate 3’s PS5 Pro Enhancement is full of surprises. Not only is it about to look better than the Quality Mode of the base PS5 thanks to the 1440p resolution upscaled to 4K with the added expanse of the PSSR’s 60 FPS, but Larian Studios was also able to add 60 FPS for the RPG’s split-screen mode

That’s what many of us have been wanting for a long time now.

Today’s little update is bringing PS5 players a quick multiplayer fix alongside brand new graphical enhancements for the PS5 Pro!

To help you get the most out of your PS5 Pro, we’ve tweaked our Quality and Performance modes to achieve crisp console visuals without sacrificing smooth performance. Tinker away in the settings to find the perfect array of pixels for you!” confirms Larian in a separate blog post.

Moving on from Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s been recently spotted that the PS5 Pro can run the Resident Evil 4 remake at a whopping 100 FPS. This, of course, is followed up by Stellar Blade, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Demon’s Souls, and many more.

The PlayStation 5 Pro was released on November 7, 2024, as a follow-up console to the base PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Slim. It costs $699 and features 2 TB storage, Sony’s new PSSR tech, and improved GPU computing. Here’s a growing list of all the games out there that are currently PS5 Pro optimized. Feel free to look into it if you’re planning on picking up a couple of new titles.

Speaking of which, the PlayStation November Sale is currently now live, discounting hundreds of top-end titles. Make sure to check out the PS Store timely to make the best of the occasion.
