Rockstar Finally Announces Red Dead Redemption And Undead Nightmare’s PC Port

Recently on X, Rockstar Games recently announced that Red Dead Redemption, along with its Undead Nightmare DLC, is coming to PC on October 29, 2024. The game seems to be a direct PC port of the original with several new features, including native 4K resolution, Ultrawide, and Super Ultrawide monitor support.

Furthermore, the article listed on Rockstar’s official website states that the Red Dead Redemption port will support HDR10 as well as complete keyboard and mouse functionality. Looking at performance optimizations, the port will also support NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0 upscaling technologies, NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings, and more.

Rockstar assures more details coming the following week, including instructions on how to pre-purchase Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare on PC. So far, they’ve only listed Rockstar Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store, as the only storefronts to buy the port, and the pricing hasn’t been announced yet.

A Win For Rockstar And Its Fans

After the worldwide success of Red Dead Redemption 2, players have been waiting impatiently for Rockstar to bring its predecessor to PC, as rumors about it were already circling around. Although you can technically already play Red Dead Redemption on PC via emulation, it is a legally grey area and emulation itself may raise several internet concerns, prompting users to opt for anonymity via a proxy service, like rotating proxy.

Red Dead Redemption is an action-adventure title originally released in May 2010 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It was later released for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in August 2023 and is currently playing on current-gen consoles via backward compatibility.
