Worms Rumble Announced: Includes Battle Royale Modes and Cross-Play, No Xbox Support Though

Back in 1995, Team 17 came up with one of the most amazing titles to revolutionise the gaming world. Even to this day, we praise the game. The game in question is of course Worms. The series has grown but manages to stay true to its initial formula. The idea that you have to launch missiles on your opponent, managing to aim appropriately depending on the distance. This was distinct at that time. Since then, we have seen improvements in the physics of the title and even the graphics. Last we saw Worms W.M.D. The game came out for all systems, including Linux.

A New Addition To The Worms Series

The thing is, the game was seen on a couple of phones as well, in collaboration with SEGA. The main phones to support this were the ones from Sony Ericsson. Yes, they were still a thing back then. Now, we fast-forward to 2020, four years since the last Worms game and we see that Team 17 has something more in store. A trailer came out recently which was also reported by Nibel in a tweet.

According to the trailer and the tweet, there are three new features this time around. While there isn’t much that can be done with the game (Ahem EA), they have managed to include certain amazing things. Firstly, the real-time combat. This would make sure that your battles are way more competitive and not limited to being turn-based. Secondly, people all across the board would be able to compete with one another. This is with the help of cross-platform support for the game. This would be available on the PS4, PS5 and PC. Sorry Xbox fans, nothing for you guys right now.

Finally, they have also added a 32-player Battle Royale and deathmatches. This would put it in line with the new titles which offer these modes. They do not require following a storyline and can suit players who want shorter sessions.
