The Xbox Achievement Overhaul is rumored to happen sometime in 2024. In the latest episode of The XboxEra Podcast, @Shpeshal_Nick stated that his sources revealed the update regarding this rumored revamp at 3:14:00 in the video below. Nick went on to talk about the nature of this information and other relevant factors.

Talk about improvements to the Xbox achievements system go as far back as 2021. Jason Ronald appeared on a podcast to comment on the demand for “platinum trophies.” Ronald gave a positive response on the whole topic, stating that the team heard some feedback; while there was nothing to announce back then, the company will keep it in mind moving forward.

Earlier this year, Jez Corden spoke to someone at Microsoft to get more details on the achievement system rework. He took to The Xbox Two podcast to go over the information he received from the executive. According to the exec, the company wanted to do something but it all came down to priorities and time.

Now, the latest rumor suggests that the achievement system overhaul is nearly done. Nick speculates that it might be one of those things where such a revamp is rolled out in multiple phases to ensure a seamless transition. Considering that players hold achievements in high regard, losing progress due to bugs via an update would be problematic.

Given that it’s a rumor, Nick further elaborated that the Xbox achievement overhaul will at the very least be shown at some point in 2024. Nevertheless, I’d highly recommend taking this with a grain of salt until official announcements.
