Fortnite will soon change its strategy and pay creators based on the overall player engagement in user maps instead of the old method. Epic Games has been toiling hard to bring Creative 2.0, and after several delays, the new set of changes will be arriving in the game this month. As recently spotted by the player @Krowe_moh, the rumored payment system is finally confirmed for the new update after brewing behind the scenes for a long time.

The creators will likely earn based on how much time the players spend on a map. In other words, a map will rake more cash with better quality, attracting more users. Naturally, maps made for grinding rewards will eventually cease to work long-term, as the players will flood the high-quality maps in droves after a while. However, the specifics behind the inner workings of the new system have not been confirmed by Epic Games.
Many prominent insiders have backed up the new findings, including Fortnite Creative News and Shiina, ensuring that it’s not a fake rumor sprouted by the community. However, the page seems inaccessible to the general public at the time of writing. It may go live in the coming days for everyone.

Island creators will no longer have to rely on the old Support-A-Creator program, which allows users to earn rewards from Fortnite. The accepted creators can gain 5% of the value of in-game purchases using their Creator Code. However, it was not a very lucrative payment method and earned its fair share of criticisms over the years. The upcoming Creative 2.0 update will alter how creators are paid and rely on total user engagement.
Additionally, the new Creative 2.0 is bringing even more changes. The creators will soon be able to use the Unreal Engine integration to create custom models, scripts, and the like. Due to the new features, the caliber of the new maps will be boosted to new horizons for a fun venture. Fortnite Creative 2.0 will entirely reshape the mode after the new update, with custom maps improving in quality and setting new standards never seen before.
The updated payment system will also encourage new creators to partake in the Fortnite creative community. The Unreal Engine integration will allow the creators to achieve a new level of customizations not possible in the past. The Unreal Engine addition was announced over two years ago, and the community has patiently waited for the largest addition in the game in recent months.
Fortnite Creative 2.0 was supposed to release last year with the Chapter 4 season update in December. However, it was delayed to January 2023, only to be pushed further to March this year, and it seems that Epic Games will not delay the update again. The previous updates by Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney have suggested that the update is still slated for a March release. The beta arrives next week on 22nd March 2023.
