Danganronpa Decadence, which is a collection of all 3 Danganronpa games, is coming out December 3rd. It is a Switch Exclusive port that includes a new 4th spin-off game in the series called Danganronpa S, which seems to be a highly expanded take on an extra boardgame mode present in Danganronpa V3.
Recently spotted on Famitsu, Spike Chunsoft has given brand new story details about the upcoming spin-off game, as well as unseen screenshots from the game. The game will once again be set on Jabberwock Island from Super Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. The setup of the game is that a group of Ultimate High Schoolers (the cast of all the previous Danganronpa games) are about to graduate and are going on a one and a half month talent training camp. Following is a direct translation of the article, which says that:
“It is the Monokomers that support the participants in the training camp. Their “Monokomers Wand” is like a management tool in the programming world, and you can instantly create what you lack in the training camp. However, because Monokuma robbed the “Monokmar’s Wand”, Jabberwock Island became a dangerous island full of monokumas. In order to finish the training camp and return to reality, it is necessary to hone your talents while fighting dangerous mono-monsters, and all participants will get the pieces of their choice”
Alongside returning characters, it seems that certain family members of some of the students will also be present on Jabberwock Island. From the screenshots shown, which can be found in Famitsu article, it seems one of the related characters is Komaru Naegi, the sister of the protagonist of the first Danganronpa game Makoto Naegi. Komaru was previously shown in another Danganronpa Spin-off game called “Danganronpa Ultra Despair Girls” which was a third person shooter set in the Dangan universe. Ultra Despair Girls had you play as either Komaru or Toko Fukawa, who’s also a character from the first Danganronpa game.
The game also supposedly has a Gacha aspect where you can unlock new characters using tokens on different vending machines that offer different rarity types, with rarer types and a “Monomonoya Scene” which offers cards with “Swimsuit designs” of the characters. There is also a Golden Monomo vending machine that only offers high rarity cards. There is also another kind of card called “Exciting Cards” that gives your character stat boosts.
Danganronpa Decadence comes out December 3rd on the Nintendo Switch.
