In Genshin Impact, players can pick weapons from five weapon types: swords, claymores, polearms, catalysts, and bows. Of course, having such a massive weapon pool does not mean all of them are effective and the best in the game. That is why we have curated the Genshin Impact weapon tier list to find and rank the best weapons from each category. The five tiers we choose to rank each weapon type are based on our experience and online research.

Genshin Impact Swords Tier List
Swords playstyle is for the players who do not want the fast swing attacks of polearms, and at the same time, do not want the sluggish feel of claymores as well. In Genshin Impact, swords are pretty much the middle ground for melee-based combat.
S-Tier
All the swords mentioned under S-tier are the best in the game, whether you are fighting one-versus-one or with a crowd.
- Mistsplitter Reforged: Offers a significant elemental damage boost and accumulates Mistsplitter’s Emblem for each element used, making it ideal for characters relying on elemental infusions.
- Primordial Jade Cutter: Boosts HP and attack based on refinement, providing both survivability and damage output.
- Freedom-Sworn: Boosts both the wielder’s attack damage and the entire party’s damage, making it a versatile choice for enhancing overall damage output.

- Aquila Favonia: Provides both damage buffs and health regeneration, making it valuable in various combat scenarios.
- Skyward Blade: Elevates critical rate, attack speed, and overall damage during charged and normal attacks.
B-Tier
The B-tier ranking Genshin Impact weapon list swords are not the best in the game but certainly not the worst as well. They offer little value as compared to the top-tier ones. Nevertheless, they are still above-average swords in the game.
- Festering Desire: Elevates elemental skill damage and critical rate, promoting frequent critical strikes.
- The Black Sword: Increases damage on charged and normal attacks and triggers health regeneration on critical hits.
- Blackcliff Longsword: Provides a significant attack increase after enemy takedowns, making it formidable in skilled hands.

D-Tier
These swords have very limited passive ability application when it comes to receiving buffs on the field.
- Sword of Descension: Offers a PlayStation-exclusive attack boost and a chance to unleash a damage AoE attack.
- Royal Longsword: Boosts critical rate on damage dealing, but stacks are wiped upon enemy critical hits.
- Lion’s Roar: Increases overall damage upon hitting enemies with electro or pyro-based attacks.
- Skyrider Sword: Provides attack and movement speed boosts upon elemental burst use.
- Fillet Blade: Offers potential for increased damage but is hindered by a lengthy passive trigger time.
Genshin Impact Claymore Tier List
Claymore is a slow-swing but heavy-hitting weapon in Genshin Impact that favors muscle more than speed. Claymores are slow, but they hit hard and deal much more damage per swing than swords and polearms. Below is the Genshin Impact Claymore Tier List.
S-Tier
All the S-tier Claymore weapons are the best in the best in the game. They hit the hardest of all other weapons from the same category and their passive is very useful while fighting in the field.
- Skyward Pride: Versatile claymore with strong base attack and useful vacuum effect.
- Wolf’s Gravestone: Boosts wielder and party’s damage, making it highly valuable.
A-Tier
The claymores falling under the A-tier ranking of the tier list are near perfection. They will get the job done, but they will leave a tangible feeling of not doing more.
- The Unforged: Enhances shield strength and provides attack buffs.
- Song of Broken Pines: Grants buffs to attacks benefiting both wielder and party.
B-Tier

- Serpent Spine: Increases damage dealt but also the damage taken.
- Favonius Greatsword: Generates elemental orbs on critical hits, aiding energy-dependent characters.

Genshin Impact Polearms Tier List
Polearms are fast like a small-sized dagger. In Genshin Impact, this weapon type allows the character to maintain a distance and keep hitting the opponent from a safe distance.
S-Tier
The S-tier ranking tier list polearms are the best in its class of weapons. Their passive is pretty strong and allows the wielder to survive longer by receiving increased damage and HP.
Primordial Jade Winged-Spear
Primordial Jade Winged-Spear offers a small damage increase of 3.2/3.9/4.6/5.3/6.0 for six seconds. However, the stacks can get up to seven times, increasing the overall damage to a much higher value.
Staff of Homa
If your character needs frequent health point regeneration and an extraordinary amount of damage buff from a polearms weapon, then Staff of Homa is the right pick. This weapon can increase the wielder’s HP by 20-40%. Moreover, when the wielder’s health falls below 50%, the Staff of Homa offers additional weapon damage.
A-Tier
The A-tier ranking polearms come very close to the S-tier weapons of the same category. However, they lack finesse and have a little less effective passive than the top-tier polearms in Genshin Impact. Still, they are the best polearms than most in its class in the game.

- Lithic Spear: Increases attack and critical rate if a team member is from Liyue.
- Favonius Lance: Grants energy particles and energy generation on critical hits.
- Dragon’s Bane: Increases damage against enemies affected by Pyro or Hydro attacks.
D-Tier
The D-tier polearms are straight-up the least desirable weapons in its class. Their passive does not offer enough value to the wielder as compared to other polearms of high-tiers.

- Royal Spear: Increases critical rate but offers marginal damage increase.
- White Tassel: Boosts normal attack damage but lacks significant utility.

S-Tier
There is just one catalyst that outshines others in its class when it comes to landing overall elemental damage. It offers the highest value while having it equipped on a character.
Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds
Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is the best Catalyst in Genshin Impact. Its lasting passive effects include a 10% movement speed increase and a stacking 8-16% elemental damage boost every four seconds in combat, maxing out at four stacks.
A-Tier
The A-tier catalysts come significantly closer to becoming the top-tier ones in the game. However, they lack the touch that makes them the perfect ones. Still, they are pretty much powerful, useful, and valuable catalysts in the game.

S-Tier
There is just one bow that is extraordinary when it comes to offering the best and most useful passive along with the highest attack in Genshin Impact.
- Skyward Harp: Boasts the highest critical damage and a remarkable chance to trigger an area-of-effect attack, making it exceptionally powerful.
A-Tier
The A-tier Genshin Impact bows are not the best in their class, but still, they are second to none in Genshin Impact. They have strong passive, and the charged attack is pretty useful.
- Amos’ Bow: Increases aimed shot and normal attack damage significantly, compensating for its slightly lower base attack.
- Elegy for the End: Increases elemental mastery and provides Sigils of Remembrance, which can be consumed to boost elemental mastery for the party.
- Thundering Pulse: Increases attack significantly, providing a buff to normal attacks.
B-Tier
The B-tier ranking bows are not the best in the game but certainly not the worst either. They offer little value as compared to other top-tier bows in its class. However, they can still be pretty useful if used properly in certain conditions.
- The Viridescent Hunt
