Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart has received a new patch, improving rift transitions during the Awesome Bugtrax Done Quick Speetle Course Challenge and overall stability. The patch notes outline each adjustment in version 1.92 of the game, continuing the cycle of regular updates to enhance the experience and continue supporting the title on PC.
As of this patch, Bouncer and Heavy Bouncer weapons will function as intended at frame rates above 60 FPS, while swing distance will no longer decrease at high FPS. Additionally, ghosting that was visible in menus and the user interface when using FSR 2.2 upscaling has been fixed. Following that, the version number of FSR 2.2 is now displayed correctly in the game’s menus and launcher.
The latest update for Rift Apart also improves the game’s functionality, enabling the ‘half button press’ weapon functionality. This was achieved by allowing the left and right triggers to use analog values when set to utilize Steam Input. In addition, an issue with the left stick diagonal controller input when the input mode was not active has been corrected.
Despite the consistent updates, Rift Apart still suffers from some discrepancies related to ray-tracing. Insomniac Games and Nixxes aim to address more of these problems with v1.92. Flickering ray-traced shadows on enemies and objects, including Grunthors, Goon Dropships, Seekerpedes, and Sand Sharks have been fixed. Furthermore, artifacts in ray-traced reflections on some smooth surfaces, like the floor in Zurkie’s Gastropub were eliminated.

Rift Apart was initially launched in 2020, exclusively for the PlayStation 5. The console’s SSD, which was exceptionally fast at the time, was credited for enabling instantaneous travel between various dimensions. Considering how technology has caught up since then, the PC system requirements revealed that the game could be played with modern, traditional HDDs albeit with downgraded performance.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is available now on PlayStation 5 and PC.
