Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart has received a new update, improving the game’s frame pacing in addition to updating the AMD FidelityFX version used in-game to 2.2. The patch notes elaborate on the former, stating how the GPUs with 8GB VRAM or less will see better pacing when hitting certain surfaces with large amounts of bullets.

As of this patch, ray-tracing options are now available on AMD GPUS in Linux. Furthermore, Dynamic Resolution Scaling can now be used in combination with Intel XeSS. Other additions include a water-deforming animation for when the player character swims in a body of water. Additionally, Phantom Dash animation is no longer affected by the frame rate after the latest update for the game.

Insomniac Games and Nixxes have addressed a few bugs in v1.831 as well, aiming to further polish the state of the game. Aside from various interface errors being ironed out, a bug that caused the Phantom Dash effect to remain visible when toggled off has been rectified. Moreover, the launcher has been adjusted to fit on screens with low resolutions or high DPI scaling settings.

Beyond the aforementioned changes, the game has also received stability improvements, specifically for AMD Radeon RX 7000 GPUs. With these adjustments, improved frame pacing, and updated FidelityFX, Insomniac’s world-hopping adventure appears to be in a more polished state than before despite having a solid baseline at launch.

The PlayStation exclusive arrived on PC earlier this year, launching to a relatively warm reception. What stood out at the time of its launch was the ability to play the game on modern HDDs and the lack of ray-tracing on AMD GPUs. Insomniac promptly resolved the issue, providing a complete set of visual features to all players.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is available on PlayStation 5 and PC.
