Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 Update Brings New Game Modes And Maps

The FPS title's season 3 has kicked off for both Warzone 2 and the base game with a brand-new patch.

Infinity Ward has released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0’s season 3 with a big patch filled with content. This new season introduces new multiplayer maps, new weapons, and new game modes like Gunfight and Cranked. Patch notes have also come out to give us an in-depth look at all the new content like the BlackCell battle pass bundle and fresh events.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has an automatic spend option in this year’s battle pass beside the manual method. In addition, the trophy hunt limited-time event begins where players will drop trophies when they die on April 14. Progression has also got a few upgrades and new challenges will be available for battle pass weapons from the previous season.

Moving on, some new weapons have been added to the game in this season 3 update. These include the Cronen Squall Battle Rifle and the FJX Imperium Sniper Rifle in addition to the multitude of balancing changes to existing ones. In general changes, this update has adjusted the visual damage feedback to increase visibility. Furthermore, death effects will now be visible in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 when Killing AI.

Thermal vision will now be a part of the tactical camera in night map modes. In addition, grenades will no longer detonate enemy explosives and Semtex will kill downed players moving forwards. Killstreak changes include the reduction of screen shakes and the reduction of armor damage from cluster mines in Warzone 2.0. Dozens of global bug fixes are a part of this Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 patch.

The bugs preventing the use of several blueprints in DMZ and those allowing players to exit a vehicle and leave the map have been rectified. In addition, this update has fixed the killstreak issue preventing the Explosive Crossbow bolts from damaging the Wheelson. Moving on, in Special Ops, the difficulty of the escape sequence in Atomgrad Raid episode 2 has increased.

For Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, this patch has added new modes and introduced many changes. Round ending kills will now properly track on the scoreboard and a handful of out-of-bounds issues have been rectified. This update has fixed the issue of the game crashing when using a combat knife or riot shield to melee. In addition, Ranked play is returning as usual and will feature new seasonal rewards for players.

Some upgrades are specific to Warzone 2.0 and affect both the DMZ and battle royale modes. In gameplay, the Armor Plate Carrier has improved and the bomb drone damage has been reduced. Furthermore, the position of the Killstreak banner has moved to prevent clashes with the player’s reticle. Bug fixes are naturally a part of this update which has overhauled numerous issues plaguing Warzone 2.

A few fixes like the resurgence of the Play Again button are specific to battle royale. Last but not least, some bug fixes are specific to the DMZ mode. For example, this Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has fixed the issue where using an exploding barrel to kill enemies wouldn’t progress the mission.
