COD Warzone 2: Best Marksman Rifles [Top 5]

The sequel to COD Warzone introduces a variety of marksman rifles with their individual uses, but some of them are a cut above the rest

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 highly emphasizes Marksman Rifles this time around. The game’s overall higher recoil and faster time to kill means every shot matters. This makes Marksman rifles a great choice for players, with their higher damage per round and better accuracy. However, it takes serious grinding and commitment to unlock weapons and fully upgrade a single marksman rifle in Warzone 2.0, and it can often be tough to choose the best one. So let’s jump right in and look at the best marksman rifles and their loadouts in COD Warzone 2.0!

Key Highlights

  • Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 establishes marksman rifles as a dominant gun type in combat.
  • Marksman Rifles often provide the best balance between damage, accuracy, and speed.
  • The best marksman rifle loadouts in Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 either excel in one category or are generally great all-rounders.

SA-B 50

Showing the SA-B 50

The SA-B 50 is a snappy and lightweight bolt action rifle that excels in mobility and handling. It’s the quickest Marksman rifle in the game, with respectable damage output and handling. With mobility being its strong suit, you can use it for quick scoping and easily mounting at the cover. Even though it has a slightly weak firing rate, this is undoubtedly one of the best marksman rifles in Warzone 2.0 for close-range combat.

SA-B 50 Best Loadout

For this loadout, we’ll make the SA-B 50 even better as a close-range weapon. That way, you can guarantee yourself a kill or two in an immediate encounter.

  • Stock: XRK Specter Mod
  • Scope: SP-X 80 6.6X
  • Rear Grip: Schlager Match Grip
  • Laser: Corio Lazz-44 v3
  • Bolt: FSS ST87 Bolt

One way to further make the SA-B 50 lightweight is by removing the stock. Therefore, we’ll be using the XRK Specter Mod to increase our mobility and ADS speed at the cost of accuracy. Moreover, the XRK Specter Mod also increases our Sprint to Fire speed, so you’ll be able to quickly catch up to your enemies or get away from them if needed.

Next, we’ll move on to our Optic, where the best choice is the SP-X 80 6.6X scope. The SP-X is a great balance between mobility and accuracy, where it’s not heavy nor too situational. The added scope toggle means you can switch your preferred range on the go, further making the SA-B 50 more adaptable.

A few helpful attachments for increasing our ADS and Sprint to Fire Speed are the Schlager Match Grip and Corio Lazz-44 v3 Laser. The Schlager rear grip, at the expense of recoil control, further improves the SA-B 50 as a close-range rifle by making it even quicker and snappier. On the other hand, the Corio Lazz-44 v3 is an excellent addition for improving ADS speed and stability. However, it’s important to keep in mind that this laser is strongly visible to hostiles, so be careful when scoping the nearby area!

The FSS ST87 Bolt is another vital attachment for the SA-B 50. This modification increases the gun’s rechambering speed so you can shoot multiple shots much more quickly. This is one of the best attachments to a Marksman rifle if you’re looking to increase its firing rate.

Lockwood Mk2

For a long-range weapon, the Lockwood Mk2 blows all other Marksman Rifles out of the water. This gun has it all – Damage, Range, Mobility, and Handling. The Lockwood Mk2 is one of the best guns for beginners, and with a wide array of uses, it can accommodate multiple playstyles. You can use it as a long-range rifle with a quick firing rate or a short-range weapon with insane stopping power.

Lockwood Mk2 Best Loadout

The Lockwood Mk2 has a firm grip on the basics. However, in this loadout, we’ll focus on Lockwood’s long-range capabilities since that’s an aspect most Marksman rifles fail in. So if you prefer long-range combat, this loadout is for you!

  • Laser: Accu-Shot 5MW Laser
  • Optic: Teplo-OP3
  • Muzzle: FTAC Dreadnought
  • Barrel: 25″ Buffalo Barrel
  • Ammunition: .45 GVT Hollowpoint

Starting with the laser, we have the Accu-Shot 5MW Laser. This laser increases ADS Speed and Aiming Stability so you’ll be able to make your longshots with ease. This is further complimented by the addition of the Teplo-OP3 as our primary scope, which has thermal target identification and 5.0x magnification. This means you’ll easily track down enemies at longer distances.

Moving onto our muzzle, we have the FTAC Dreadnought attachment. This muzzle increases bullet velocity and recoil smoothness, as well as enabling sound suppression, a bonus for making you undetectable on the minimap.

Once that’s done, you can go ahead and equip the Lockwood Mk2 with the 25″ Buffalo Barrel. This improves the Lockwood Mk2 in many ways, including the buffs to Damage Range, Hip Fire accuracy, Movement Speed, and Bullet Speed. For a single attachment, this increases the effectiveness of the gun dramatically and is a must for this loadout.

Finally, we’ll also load up with .45 GVT Hollowpoint as our primary ammunition. Once these bullets hit a target, that target is slowed down with their sprint momentarily disabled. This means that you’ll be able to finish off the enemy before they get to cover, essentially giving the Lockwood Mk2 an insane crippling boost.

LM-S

The LM-S has the quickest fire rate out of any Marksman Rifle on this list, even surpassing the EBR-14. You can quickly follow up on your single shot with an extra one to confirm a kill. This makes the LM-S one of the best weapons for multi-kills and DMZ, where you’ll get a few AQ kills.

It’s one of the best Marksman rifles that offers a blend between automatic and snipers in COD Warzone 2.0. Unfortunately, the LM-S does have slightly weak damage and accuracy, so it’s not the best for long-range engagements.

LM-S Best Loadout

The LM-S is already a beast when it comes to short-range, but for Warzone, a massive map means you need to have long-range effectiveness. Therefore, this LM-S loadout will primarily improve its accuracy.

  • Stock: RAPP-762 Factory
  • Rear Grip: Lachmann TCG-10
  • Ammunition: 15 Round Mag
  • Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin 90
  • Muzzle: Polarfire – S

Starting from the back, we’ll equip the RAPP-762 Factory for our Stock and the Lachmann TCG-10 Grip as our Rear Grip. With a small hit to our crouch and ADS speed, the RAP-762 offers substantial recoil stability to the LM-S alongside the TCG-10 grip.

Since the LM-S is a semi-automatic rifle, it’s better to make use of that quick firing rate by equipping the 15 Round Mag. Semi-automatics often tend to run out of ammunition quickly since their lower damage means more bullets need to be used. With 15 rounds, you won’t have to worry about bullets running out. It’ll somewhat make the LM-S an assault rifle, just with a lot higher damage per bullet.

After that, we’ll introduce the FSS Sharkfin 90 as an underbarrel attachment. Accuracy and stability are major concerns for the LM-S, and this attachment fulfills that requirement without any drawbacks, so it works well in this case.

Finally, we have the Polarfire-S as our muzzle. This attachment provides numerous benefits, like sound suppression and improving recoil smoothness and damage range. It also increases the bullet velocity hence improving the time to kill, an essential aspect in Warzone 2.0. This makes the LM-S much more effective and easier to use.

SPR-208

Showcasing the SPR-208

When it comes to base accuracy and recoil control, the best Marksman rifle in COD Warzone 2.0 for the job is the SPR-208. Being an alternative to the Lockwood Mk2, this weapon is the closest to a sniper rifle in terms of usage since it comes with a focus on long-range combat and respectable damage. However, it does also come with the drawback of having the weakest fire rate out of any Marksman Rifle. However, with a few attachments, that issue can be easily fixed.

SPR-208 Preferred Loadout

We’ll primarily focus on a loadout that increases the SPR-208’s firing rate and overall speed so that it becomes viable in the mid-range as well. The SPR-208 is already extremely powerful for long-range engagements. However, you’ll eventually have a lot more enemies around you as time passes in Warzone. Therefore, a weapon needs to be reliable in those sudden circumstances.

  • Stock: ZRL T70 Pad Extension
  • Laser: FSS Ole-V
  • Optic: SPX-80 6.6X
  • Bolt: FSS ST87 Bolt
  • Ammunition: 10 Round Mag

To increase our movement and ADS speed, we’ll get the ZRL T70 Pad Extension as our stock, as well as the FSS Ole-V for our laser attachment. These 2 attachments add a ton of mobility and handling to the SPR-208, which can help in close encounters.

For the optic, we’ll get the SPX-80 6.6X scope. This is a magnified scope with a magnification toggle, so you can change its zoom according to the situation. This makes the SPR-208 much more versatile, which is perfect for Warzone.

Moving on, we’ll also get the FSS ST87 bolt since it helps with the rechambering speed. This means you can shoot your bullets back to back much more quickly. This does negatively impact your rechambering accuracy, but with its massive improvement to firing rate, it doesn’t make that big of a difference.

Finally, we’ll also put the 10-Round Mag onto the SPR-208 just for reliability’s sake. The SPR-208 initially comes with only 5 bullets which is very low for a Marksman Rifle. Thus, this attachment is a must to make the weapon viable, which, unlike the 15-Round Mag, doesn’t affect your movement speed too much.

TAQ-M

If you’re looking for a great all-rounder weapon, then the TAQ-M is definitely for you. Belonging to the TAQ family, the TAQ-M is easily one of the best Marksman Rifles to have in COD Warzone 2.0. This weapon is easy-to-use, incredibly efficient, and viable in almost any range and situation.

The TAQ-M has only one noticeable drawback – fire rate. While it’s certainly not the worst in this class, the firing rate matters for the TAQ-M a lot more due to its damage output. Thankfully, there are several attachments to improve that aspect of the TAQ-M.

TAQ-M Top Loadout

As mentioned earlier, the TAQ-M is a mid-range beast thanks to its damage. So for our loadout, we’ll primarily look to increase the gun’s accuracy so that our shots hit right on point while also making up for the TAQ-M’s slightly weaker fire rate.

  • Muzzle: Polarfire – S
  • Rear Grip: Demo Cleanshot Grip
  • Optic: SZ Minitac-40
  • Laser: FSS Ole-V
  • Ammunition: 15 Round Mag

Starting with the muzzle, we’ll go with the Polarfire-S. This will increase the TAQ-M’s damage range and lower its time to kill, thus alleviating one of the gun’s major issues. Additionally, this attachment also adds in sound suppression, a huge benefit in Warzone since you won’t attract attention.

Next, we’ll move on to the grip section, where the easiest choice is to get the Demo Cleanshot Grip. This grip helps a ton with ADS speed which the muzzle lacks, so it’s a good combination with that attachment. However, the Demo Cleanshot does slightly worsen our recoil stability, so that’s an important factor to keep in mind.

The SZ Minitac-40 scope is ideal for mid-range accuracy due to its sharpness and respectable ADS speed. This works well with the TAQ-M’s range since its super crisp picture means you can precisely pinpoint where your gun will shoot.

Along with the Minitac-40, we’ll also get an FSS OLE-V Laser due to its aiming and ADS enhancement. This works well in outdoor environments where you’ll mainly use the TAQ-M since this laser won’t be visible in that environment.

Finally, we’re gonna need the 15-Round Mag for the TAQ-M so we can spam the enemy team with bullets. The mag enhancement makes this weapon a lot more reliable if you’re up against an enemy duo or more. Getting those 5 extra bullets means you have a better shot of clean-sweeping the enemy team.
