A few weeks ago, Blizzard Entertainment disclosed a brand new survival game in the works. The new title is based on a wholly new universe. That unannounced survival game came as a pleasant surprise; we were not expecting to see more from Blizzard for a while. However, that is not the only potion brewing in Blizzard‘s lab.
This is worth mentioning that Windows Central editor Jez Corden is familiar with the unannounced role-playing title. Corden noted last week that Blizzard has a reliable roadmap for the present generation. He hoped the developer would reveal the role-playing game last month, not the survival game.
Blizzard Entertainment Hiring Lead Content Designer For Existing IP
Recently, we stumbled upon a job listing by Blizzard; they are hiring for an existing IP. The developers of prominent games like Overwatch and World of Warcraft are currently seeking a Lead Content Designer to work on a new title for their current franchise. The title in the works is based “within an established Blizzard IP.”
The candidate requires sufficient knowledge in “creating and running pen-and-paper role-playing campaigns and live-action role-playing games” and will be entrusted with devising “narratively interesting missions, points of interests, and characters within a shared world.” Blizzard notes the expectations for the role as follows.
The ideal candidate presents designs that blend compelling gameplay and storytelling to help us create play areas, quests, characters, and dialogue for an unannounced project. This person must be able to collaborate within design, audio, localization, art, worldbuilding, and engineering groups to efficiently and creatively implement story-focused content.
Blizzard Studio may put thoughts into announcing the role to compel a hiring gambol just as they did with its nameless survival title. However, as one would expect, it will be a period before the developer makes any leaks since the project appears to be in a rudimentary state as of now.
The game appears to have a hefty emphasis on role-playing and a narrative experience. Knowledge of “Blizzard worlds and gameplay values” is required for the candidate. It is no surprise that one can only excel in this position if they have a passion for tabletop or computer RPGs.
Not a lot is known about this title in the works, except the particulars mentioned in this job listing. However, the game allegedly has many Blizzard developers excited. For now, we will have to wait to see where this leads and when Blizzard will announce this project.
Blizzard Entertainment has Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 underway thus far when established IPs are analyzed. Therefore it allows for an exciting conjecture as to which current franchise will be acquiring a new role-playing installment—Warcraft? StarCraft? Perhaps we may receive a title in a long silent IP. What are your thoughts about it? Let us know in the comments below!
