Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Needs To Unleash The Fury Of Beast Gohan 

For everybody new to the franchise, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is still considered the best fighting game by many, even after 15 years. It had a roster of 162 characters besides transformation, an excellent story mode, a beautiful OST, and fun game modes accompanying it.

This game was released in 2007 and set a bar for other fighting games. As one of the most extensive Dragon Ball fans, I want its successor to be bigger, fuller, and even more fun. Let’s talk about it.

Akira Toriyama’s Wrong Step

If we dive into the lore of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama was setting Gohan as the next savior of planet Earth, from head butting Raditz in his chest to fighting the Frieza army. It was always foreshadowed and sometimes even outright showcased that Gohan had more potential than Goku himself.

This potential was shown to us when Gohan went Super Saiyan 2 against Cell at the age of 10, which even Goku and Vegeta could not achieve.

In Buu Saga, Toriyama sensei changed his mind. After Goku’s death, Gohan became the new savior of Earth and achieved a new form called Mystic Gohan. This form was under-shadowed as Buu absorbed him, and Goku had to save the day.

Akira Toriyama returned to Dragon Ball’s roots and wanted to make Goku the main character again. This was a letdown for many of the series fans, as they wanted to see more of Gohan.

Redemption Of Gohan In Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero

As shown in the movie mentioned above, Gohan had his moment and got a new form that rivals the strengths of the strongest characters in the series. In the Manga (yes, which is canon), Beast Gohan goes toe to toe against Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku and then Super Saiyan Broly.

This movie and the new transformation was a fan service by Toriyama and Toyotaro for the Dragon Ball fans to bring Gohan back into the scene. It has also been mentioned by the author multiple times Gohan has the potential to be the strongest Saiyan in history.

Good News! Power Vs. Speed

The trailer released on March 20th emphasizes two forms of strength: power and speed. It showcased agile characters like Hit going against powerful characters like Broly. Broly has raw strength and is powerful in any Dragon Ball game release.

However, Beast Gohan is the perfect blend of both. He has the raw power that rivals Super Saiyan Broly and the speed that can keep up with Ultra Instinct Goku. The trailer made factions of characters fast or powerful, but if they implemented Beast Gohan correctly, he would be one of the most busted characters in the game.
