Persona 5 Royal Garners 30,000 Players In First Week, Breaking Persona 4 Golden’s Record

Persona 5 Royal breaks records in its first week.

It has only been a day since the new Persona 5 Royal came, and it is already making its mark. Persona 5 Royal will be available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, Steam, PlayStation 5 as well as Nintendo Switch.

According to the two developers Atlus and P Studio, they state that the game has a rating of “M.” The game follows the main character who has to go undercover to become the Phantom Thief. What is there not to like?

MAJOR TAKEAWAYS:

  • Persona 5 Royal was released on 21 October 2022.
  • It is the fifth installment of the Persona franchise.
  • In just 24 hours it has surpassed the previous game.

Meet our main character who is a second-year high school kid that has to move to the Shujin Academy. One day he finds himself being able to use his powers as a Persona user. After this power awakens our character’s life completely shifts.

In the morning he is your average student and at night he is the Phantom Thief that causes havoc in his city. Many fans of the Persona series found this plot super intriguing. This was made obvious by the fact that Persona 5 Royal surpassed the previous Persona 4 Golden.

That is not even half of it, the new game was able to manage that in its first week. In fact, the game has had 30,510 players in the last 24 hours. This of course is the highest the game has gotten as of now. While the previous Persona 4 Golden has only gotten a meager 2,139  players in the last 24 hours.

So, what do fans say about the new game? Well, most people in the community are not shocked about the number of gamers playing the game. They point out the fact that they had been asking for the new game for years now.

One such fan says “it turns out people actually meant it when they said they wanted to play this game. They said they wanted to play for years. Who knew?”

Some hope that this will be an eye-opening experience for Atlus and they will not take as long to make another game. In fact, there has been news of Persona 6 in the making.  Many speculate will be a PS5 exclusive unlike Persona 5.
