Aqua Ippan, a game heavily inspired by the iconic Metal Slug games, has released a demo version. The game can be played on Windows and looks almost exactly the same as the original Metal Slug games from the 90s. Aqua Ippan also features gameplay similar to the Metal Slug franchise and is currently being developed by Division 六.
Furthermore, Aqua Ippan’s demo can also be downloaded from Division 六’s official website for free. The Shoot ’em Up platformer game is currently under development, and no official release date for the final product has been announced as of yet. According to the developers, finishing up the demo took years, but the fans should stay tuned for more news.
The developers have also provided lore and concepts on their official website for fans looking to dive deeper into the world of Aqua Ippan. Aqua Ippan stands out because it pays homage to the lost prototype of Metal Slug: SV-001, the very first Metal Slug game, and tries to adapt its concepts and ideas that were scrapped during its development.
The Metal Slug franchise is one of the classics from the ’90s arcade era. The shoot-’em-up platformer games were developed and published by SNK. The player takes control of one or two players and faces off against a horde of enemies in a 2D platformer setting. They have to fight off the enemies, rescue hostages and fight against bosses to accomplish the mission.
