The Success Of Armored Core 6

Considering how successful the game’s release was last August, this achievement is no surprise. Armored Core 6 follows your Armored Core pilot who is thrown into a war raging on Rubicon’s surface over the magical substance known as Coral with your protagonist taking on missions for different factions fighting over the central plot point.

Armored Core 6 was directed by Masaru Yamamura, who worked on Sekiro as a lead designer, the title was the first entry in the FromSoftware franchise after an entire decade. And, the wait was definitely worth it with both critics and fans praising the vehicular combat game for its action and gameplay. In Japan, it sold 700,000 copies in PlayStation 4, PC, and PlayStation 5 alone in addition to 1.2 million Steam sales and became the best-selling entry of the series in a month.

Obviously, these are not Elden Ring numbers, but it’s a big win for a niche franchise owned by FromSoftware. Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon launched on August 25, 2023, for the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Our review of the title gave it a 4.5/5 rating with Huzaifah Durrani saying the game “effectively revives a franchise many of us thought dead, and it does so with incredible spectacle at that.”
