Atomic Heart’s Latest Update Adds Japanese Voice-Over Featuring A Phenomenal Cast

A compact package that packs a punch.

Story Highlights

  • Atomic Heart’s latest update adds Japanese voice-over to the game along with further improving the game’s stability.
  • The Japanese voice-over features some of the finest talents in the industry. Actors behind prominent characters such as Solid Snake, Eren Yaeger, Joseph Joestar, and Yukiko Amagi are part of the team.

The latest patch for Atomic Heart has arrived for all platforms and features a brand-new voice-over option. Featuring some of the finest voice actors in the industry, the patch notes have left a striking first impression. Bringing in the voices behind characters like Joseph Joestar, Solid Snake, Eren Yaeger, and Yukiko Amagi, Mundfish definitely has the ingredients required for a quality dub.

Akio Otsuka is the first name on the list. Many would know his voice from various anime and video games. Otsuka-san has been lending his voice to multiple characters since 1988 and is an industry veteran. Characters such as Solid, Naked, Solidus, and Venom Snake from Metal Gear were voiced by Otsuka-san in the Japanese dub.

In addition, he was also behind the characters in One Piece, Samurai Champaloo, Ghost in the Shell, and several other anime. It’s reassuring to see that the role of P-3 a.k.a Dmitry Sergeyevich Sechenov was cast with a seemingly fair amount of consideration. It’s not rare for developers to make certain choices that result in lackluster performance and subsequent backlash.

Next up on the list is Tomokazu Sugita. Fans of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Persona 5, and Gintama would undoubtedly know this name. Being the voice behind Joseph Joestar, Gintoki Sakata, and everyone’s favorite Yusuke Kitagawa in Persona 5, Sugita-san will be playing the role of Michael Stockhausen. He’s also voiced characters such as Hajime Kanzaki & Escanor from Beelzebub and The Seven Deadly Sins respectively.

Moving on, we have Yuki Kaji in the line-up. Kaji-san is known around the world for his stellar performance as Eren Yeager and many other iconic characters. Seeing his development along with Eren over the course of four seasons was a positively staggering experience.

He has also voiced characters such as Hyoudo Issei from High School DxD, Koichi Hirose from Diamond is Unbreakable, and Lyon Vastia from Fairy Tail. Yuki Kaji will be playing the role of Viktor Petrov in Atomic Heart. Lastly, we have Ami Koshimizu who will be playing Larisa Filatova. Fans will know her from her performances in Kill la Kill, Code Geass, Persona 4, and Genshin Impact.

Aside from featuring such renowned names in the industry, Atomic Heart’s latest update also addresses a handful of problems. Getting stuck in geometry is no longer a problem as you can get out by simply jumping. Moreover, the bug which prevented the acquisition of crafting resources by looting a mob or dismantling equipment has been resolved. Object flickering has also been ironed out for a smoother experience.

You can check out the Japanese voice-over of Atomic Heart on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, and last-gen consoles.
