Hi-Fi Rush Update 7 Expands Controller Support For PC Players

It's the game's first anniversary too right now.

Story Highlights

  • Hi-Fi Rush is a music-based third-person action game by Tango Gameworks and Bethesda.
  • The game has just received a new patch, thereby getting treated to refreshing new changes.
  • Among the latest additions is extended controller support for those Hi-Fi Rush players who are on PC.

Hi-Fi Rush has only had a handful of prominent updates over the course of its surprise release in January last year, but Bethesda and Tango Gameworks in a joint effort made sure that every patch brought something meaningful to the title. For instance, update 7 for the action-centric title brings extended controller optimizations for PC players, among other bug fixes and adjustments.

Hi-Fi RUSH’s latest update rings in the game’s first anniversary, offering not just extra tune-ups for the game but also the thing no gig should be without: in-game souvenir tees! Available today, Hi-Fi RUSH Patch 7 includes the Anniversary T-Shirt Bundle containing a batch of cosmetics to shake up Chai’s wardrobe,” reads the blog post announcing the patch notes.

Apart from the update’s highlight, which is something PC gamers are going to considerably enjoy, publisher Bethesda also affirms that players will receive a total of five exclusive shirts in-game, with one of them labeled a bonus exclusive, pertaining to the platform on which you own Hi-Fi Rush, whether that’s Xbox, Steam, or the Epic Games Store

That’s because today marks the very first anniversary of Hi-Fi Rush, and the developers, in an attempt to celebrate the occasion, are giving away some in-game goodies to relish the noteworthy moment. But if you’re more after the fixes that have been rolled out for the title, here is a rundown of the most prominent new enhancements:

  • Fixed a very important texture in a cutscene before Track 03.
  • Fixed issue with “No Door Unturned Lvl. 3” and “Challenge S-Ranker Lvl. 3” on the Wall of Fame not being unlocked.
  • Fixed issue with Directional Parry triggering during rhythm parries in the Rhythm Tower.
  • Fixed issue when loading auto-save data during Korsica battle in Track 07, leading to incorrect “Damage Received” in the final result.

For those not in the know, Hi-Fi Rush was meant to be announced in 2020, during that year’s E3, to be specific, but when that event got canceled, game director Jon Johanas kept “looking at times to announce it so we wouldn’t get overshadowed by something,” but the moment never really came. And when the development of the game came to a close, then arrived 2023’s Xbox and Bethesda Developer_Direct—the perfect opportunity for the devs to just shadow-drop Hi-Fi Rush.

Thereafter, the title was released that day on January 25, 2023, for the Xbox Series X|S and PC. Rumor has it that a Switch version of the title is in development as well. eXputer reviewed Hi-Fi Rush and rated it 4/5, labeling it a game that offers nothing but “pure high-octane fun from beginning to end.” In case you just started playing, make sure to check out these top-shelf Hi-Fi Rush tips and tricks for better gameplay.
