Quentin De Beukelaer, creative director of Decarnation, is also honored to work with such a distinguished artist on this project.

Renowned for his contributions to the critically acclaimed Silent Hill series, Akira Yamaoka has attained legendary status as a composer. His impact on the series can be attributed to his remarkable ambient music that seamlessly intertwines with the game’s aesthetics and sets the perfect mood. As such, his work on Decarnation is shaping up to be something worth looking forward to.
The tweet has confirmed that Akira Yamaoka has meticulously composed 10 tracks that will be featured in Decarnation. Since Decarnation has taken inspiration from many beloved cult-classic films and novels, Akira Yamaoka has remarked that it evokes memories of his cherished horror novels, reminding him of one of his favorite novels, Moju: The Blind Beast, by Edogawa Rampo.
I am delighted to have been able to take part in Decarnation‘s development, which draws its inspiration from works that are extremely dear to me, such as Moju: The Blind Beast by Edogawa Rampo. It is one of my favorite novels and has inspired many of my personal creations. In many ways, Decarnation reminds me of this work, and I have developed a special connection with this game. I sincerely hope that players will enjoy it as much as I do!” says Akira Yamaoka.
Creative director Quentin De Beukelaer also commended Akira Yamaoka’s work on Silent Hill, saying that his unwavering creative genius has persisted for over two decades since the inception of the first Silent Hill game. In addition, Decarnation seems to take inspiration from elements of Japanese culture, making Akira Yamaoka’s involvement even better.

Classic horror fans can expect to see Decarnation on Switch and PC (via Steam) on May 31, and it will be priced at $14.99.
