Final Fantasy XVI premiered a brand-new trailer during the PlayStation Showcase 2023, giving fans a better look at one of this year’s highly-anticipated titles. The action-packed story trailer sheds some light on the upcoming RPGs story. As confirmed in December, the game will release on June 22 and will remain a PlayStation exclusive for an unspecified amount of time.
Final Fantasy XVI has already received great reviews, and this launch trailer makes only makes fans more excited for the upcoming title. Set in Valisthea, the RPG’s game world is divided between six nations. These nations hold power through access to magical crystals and dominants, humans acting as hosts for each of their nations’ Eikon. The relations among the nations have grown tense as a malady named the Blight starts consuming the land.
Joshua and his guardian, Clive Rosfield, have witnessed the destruction of their kingdom and now embark on their quest to bring down the dark Eikon Ifrit. The PlayStation Showcase trailer provides more detail about the characters and the central crystals. Final Fantasy XVI will only launch on PlayStation at the start after Square Enix agreed to a deal with Sony.
Furthermore, the RPG Is meant to be a real next-gen showcase, being in such good shape that it requires no day-one patch. Hopefully, it lives up to the expectations when it launches on June 22, 2023, on PlayStation 5.
