Forspoken Receives A PS Store Discount Just Two Months Into Release

Forspoken has received a 33% discount at the PS Store for the PlayStation 5. The discount applies to the Standard Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, and Digital Deluxe Upgrade. The discount offer will last till March 30, 2023. After that, the game will return to its original price. The Standard Edition of Forspoken is now available for $46.89 (previously $69.99), while the Digital Deluxe Edition costs $63.64 (previously $94.99).

Other than that, the Forspoken Digital Deluxe Upgrade will now cost $16.75 (previously $25.00). Note that this discount deal is only available for PlayStation 5 users from the PS Store.

Additionally, used PlayStation 5 copies of Forspoken Standard Edition are being sold for $39.99. The cost of a used copy is about $5 less than a new one, while the discount deals on the PS Store are active.

Forspoken was released on January 24, 2023. The game was developed by Luminous Productions and produced by Square Enix. The open-world game received a lot of criticism and negative reviews following its release. These negative reviews cited performance and mediocre graphics for a PlayStation 5 game. Square Enix itself claimed that the sales for Forspoken have been quite “lackluster.”

It was also announced that Luminous Productions would be merged with Square Enix after Forspoken failed to get much traction. Despite the game’s poor sales performance, it is rare to see a newly released game go on a discount about two months after its release. The game follows the story of Frey, a new yorker who gets teleported to the cruel lands of Athia.

Frey uses her newfound magical abilities and is accompanied by her sentient magical bracelet named “Cuff,” which helps her on her journey to find a way back home.

The game is currently available to play on PC and PlayStation 5.
