The GTA 6 reveal trailer and poster have only been out for a while, but fans have already started digging out plot details from the material. One Reddit user has already spotted a crucial detail that may have slashed some rumors and fueled more in the process. The user BritVisions on the r/GTA subreddit recently shared that Lucia is wearing an ankle monitor, which has got the fans quite curious about what it entails for the story of the title.

Some users argue that Rockstar Games may use the ankle monitor as an “excuse” to unlock certain parts of the map as the GTA 6 story progresses. “A great excuse to ‘unlock’ parts of the map and not being able to explore it fully from the beggining,” said Samotelgordo. It could be the perfect way for devs to disguise the onslaught of cops if Lucia were to visit a locked area. A slew of fans have loved the idea of such a possibility.

Additionally, a rumor previously suggested that the first mission could be a prison break. But the ankle monitor seems to confirm that she may also have simply gotten out on parole. The pose of Lucia against Jason seems to imply her dominant role in the story. It is possible that Lucia got out of prison with the promise of keeping an eye on Jason or even betraying him in the end by turning him in.
