Story Highlights
- HoYoverse is seemingly working on a new AAA game that could feature a realistic art style.
- The change in art direction would be completely different from the studio’s current endeavors.
- The fans think the devs could easily nail a title like Stellar Blade with their amazing mocap tech.
HoYoverse is already potentially brewing a new game after Zenless Zone Zero’s release. As found in a new job listing, the devs are hiring a 3D model designer who specializes in creating characters in a realistic art style. These assets would include humanoid and alien monsters, suggesting a title related to outer space or earth invasion. Another notable part of the ad that caught everyone’s attention is that “3A game lovers are preferred.”
Many suspect the studio is going for RPGs next with a realistic art direction—something like Stellar Blade, for all we know. HoyoVerse could finally depart from its anime-style gacha games and use its amazing mocap tech for a single-player project. Another theory suggests that it could be another gacha game but with a realistic art style, which is a take many are struggling to swallow.
HoYoverse Has Had A Consistently Awesome Track Record
The wider gaming industry has recognized the studio for setting a new standard for gacha titles. Its latest release, Zenless Zone Zero, was also well received by a slew of gamers, and for all the good reasons. While the ARPG can use tweaks in gameplay, it’s proven to be an enjoyable take on the genre. On the flip side, its most popular title, Genshin Impact, has been on a downward spiral since this year began, forecasting a gloomy future for the entry.

All in all, it’s worth mentioning that the reveal of a new HoYoverse project has not appeared anywhere other than the job listing. So, it is best to take the findings with a grain of salt until we hear something concrete and official from the studio. It’ll likely be a good few years before the devs can wrap up an AAA project if their huge standards are to be taken into account.
