Next-Gen Ports of Tropico 6 Listed Online

The city-building/dictator sim is making its way to next gen consoles

Tropico 6, the city-building and dictator simulator by Limbic Entertainment is seemingly making its way to next-gen consoles as reported by a listing on games rental website “Gamefly”. There is no box art available on the site at the moment for the game but we do know that it’s listed for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Tropico 6 listed for the PlayStation 5 on Gamefly

Tropico 6 came out back in March 2019 on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 as well as the Nintendo Switch and launched to critical acclaim for its addicting strategy and city-building elements, light-hearted tone, and humor, and beautiful visuals. The game also sits at a generous “Very Positive” score on steam with an 87% positive score overall.

The series itself puts you in charge of a tropical island as its El Presidente and you have to play the role of a Dictator while managing your city. This includes setting “appropriate” taxes, funding political research, hiring spies for espionage, etc. The series is well-loved for its unique twist on the city building genre as well as its tongue-in-cheek humor and relaxing island aesthetic. Tropico 6 is also the first game in the series to include multiple islands to manage.

We don’t know if the release is going to make any big improvements as of yet but it’s coming out December 31st this year, which could very well be a placeholder date. We assume that any further details about this release are very likely going to be revealed at Gamescom this August. Gamescom is going to start on August 25th and will run until the 29th.
