Nacon recently trademarked Dragonkin The Banished in Europe and attached a logo seemingly hinting at a new game in the works. In an image shared by @Kurakasis on X (formerly known as Twitter), we can see several details regarding the trademark including the filing number, basis, date of receipt, and more.
According to the trademark information, the filing date is December 10, 2023. Given its recency, it would be safe to assume that whatever the nature is of Dragonkin The Banished, the project is still a ways off before we get any official news on it. Furthermore, the spaces for registration and expiry dates are left blank which seems to indicate a multitude of things.

At this point, there is absolutely no information available on Dragonkin The Banished. That said, we can speculate as to what this project might be based on. A series of books with a similar name, penned by author G.A. Aiken, seems to be the closest match. While it may be a coincidence, there’s also a chance that the project might be based on this book franchise similar to CDPR‘s The Witcher series.
The name appears to give a few clues as well if you’re open to speculating and theory crafting. Dragonkin The Banished may focus on a lineage of dragonoids that may have been persecuted and/or banished for some kind of reason. Could be the result of a conspiracy or some other plot device but that’s it for wild theories.
Nacon is known for publishing recent titles such as Gangs of Sherwood and RoboCop: Rogue City. eXputer gave both games a score of 3.5 out of 5 citing the satisfying gameplay and impressive visuals of the latter while criticizing its simplistic story and technical issues. The former on the other hand was praised for similar aspects but the lack of challenge and other lackluster elements made it fall short of being something truly great.
