Sega of America Has A New Boss, Ian Curran

Formerly Worked At THQ And Acclaim

Ian Curran is the man with the plan and he has been appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Sega of America. This is a huge responsibility but then again the guy has a lot of experience working at companies like THQ and Acclaim. He will be working with people all around the work including CEO of Sega West, Tatsuyuki Miyazaki.

The new President of Sega of America released a statement about his new position at the company and the following is what he had to say in this regard:

My thanks and gratitude to Mr. Miyazaki and the entire company leadership for this opportunity to lead our operations and executions in the Americas and EMEA. I appreciate all of the incredible efforts Mr. Hiraoka has made to lay the groundwork for our operations in the Americas. Coming off the success of Persona 5, Sonic Forces, Sonic Mania Plus and the Yakuza series, and with so much more on the horizon, including Valkyria Chronicles 4, it is an incredible time to join the team. As part of the Sega family, we are inheritors of an expansive body of work and opportunity which I plan to help reach its full potential.

It indeed is a great time to be onboard and leading Sega of America. Keeping in mind that the company just released the Nintendo Switch, which has been very successful since launch and is said to be the fastest selling console. Ian Curran might have some interesting plans regarding where the company should head next and what the direction of the company should be.

It will be interesting to see what he does in the upcoming weeks keeping in mind that it is predicted that Nintendo Switch sales momentum is going to fall. We have been hearing about the Nintendo Switch mini but we have not got anything concrete about the device. Maybe it will be released sometime soon, maybe Nintendo is going to take another route. It is hard to predict things when it comes to Nintendo.

We are happy for the new Sega of America, may the force be with him and may the odds forever be in hs favor.
